Yes sir! We have 80 sets of scales done and there will be pics tomorrow.

Haven't heard from Kowlaski but I'm assuming they are tempering the blades at this point.
 
Got some scale pics in. These are not all the options, just the ones that have been run. We still have natural and black canvas to run and have some terotuf as well.

Note that the gold carbon fiber isn't sanded or polished yet so the pattern isn't very visible, but I promise it will be incredible. We decided to leave the texture off the Gold CF scales because the raindrop type pattern d just didn't look right with the texture and we would have had a really difficult time sanding and polishing the CF with all the grooves.

Which of these options are terotuf?
 
None of them... He mentioned terotuf and natural and black canvas still need to be run. Any luck on OD Green linen or canvas micarta by any chance? If not, those two tone G10 are looking awfully attractive!

Negative on the OD green micarta but we ran black canvas which is in reality fairly green. Thats probably the best bet.

And SwarthyGnome SwarthyGnome we are running terotuf as well and have the green terotuf batch done :cool:
 
Alright everyone, the wait is over. I picked up all the blades and scales and will begin getting them finished tomorrow.

These blades are AMAZING. You guys will love this model. I think we nailed everything. It has the beefiness and presence a big ass bowie should have but feels great in hand and is nice and snappy despite its size and weight.

The handles are just perfect. We got every detail right. And the gold carbon fiber is off the charts. Even the sheaths are a 10/10. These will be well worth the wait.

I actually think cerakote might be the best look for these. I'll get them to the coater ASAP. Will have a finished blade to show you guys tomorrow along with all the handle options.

Only detail left.... the logo. Gotta decide here soon.

Alright yall. Here's what we're cooking with. I think these are turning out great. However, I don't think I'm going to be able to get the surface finishes as perfect as I'd hoped for. There are probably going to be some faint tooling marks here and there and the surface grinding on the flats is still visible. I'm going to keep improving my processes for these and do my best.

As for the scales, we still have to run natural and black micarta and grey terotuf, but here are all the other options. We have basically everything. Bonus material at the bottom left, another gold carbon fiber. Only have one set of these though.

I'm just going to say it, the carbon fiber crushes everything. Its not even close. Its the best option by far and this material and its variants will be a mainstay in my knifemaking.

Gold Carbon fiber and black or gold cerakote is going to be the move.

I'm working through a few options. I think getting the screws cerakoted is going to be the best bet for matching color.

Also, we engineered the scales to fit exactly with this hardware. They are completely flush, zero hotspots, I want to maintain that.
 
Would titanium screws be an option by any chance? It would be awesome to have them even if colors don’t match or just have them in plain black.

I wont have them available for this run but could look into sourcing them in the future. There's so many crazy colors you can get with the anodizing. Would be a nice compliment to some of the scales.
 
Hi Hunter, not sure if I missed this; will the blades be marked as either 3v or ztuff somewhere on the blade or handle?
