We do now. Guys, I'm SHOOK. We are sending this batch straight to heat treat for a fast turn around and saving one for me to clean up and grind this week. So Ill have some pictures with ground bevels and the mill scale removed from the flats soon.
And the kydex is looking nothing short of incredible. Get ready yall, this is the king of bowies.
Its to make sure we can straighten the tangs if there is warpage in HT. A fully skeletonized tang is alot harder to straighten or can even be impossible to straighten.
in. my experience, this material tends to warp right at the ricasso and front portion of the handle so I left it filled in for now to aid in straightening.
If this batch gets through HT without any warpage issues Im going to play around with the tang more and find the best combo of weight reduction and balance.
They are a Hefty 35 ounces out of the mill but we will cut several ounces off with surface grinding and bevel grinding. I'm guessing they will end up around 31 ounces when finished but we will see. This is a big honking knife/short sword/zombie slayer

Alright everybody, here's a very crudely ground and finished prototype that is not heat treated. Its the MONSTER you've always wanted and you can swing without hurting your shoulder. You guys are going to love this thing.
I lost some of the features by surface grinding these after milling. The production run will have a higher grind line, taller swedge, and a longer, wider, and deeper fuller for extra weight savings. Basically it will be alot more crisp and complete looking and all the grinds will be perfect + they will have a nice stonewashed finish.
I'm really happy with how the weight and feel turned out. I cut some more weight out of the tang and was the magic fix. This has just the right amount of forward weight to be a devastating chopper but is balanced enough to be really comfortable for all the knife tasks. Clocking in at about 31.5 ounces with scales but she wears the weight well.
The scales will be a little thinner to compensate for the stock thickness but will be CNC'd with texture and look the same as the Fell Beast scales.
Fell Beast for scale...Raise your hand if you can see the difference in the stock thickness
When will the production run be out?
Those changes between the prototype and production seem to be significant.
Or am I not understanding and you mean between production run and pre order?

As of now, I'm planning on scrapping the prototype run and skipping straight to the production/ pre-order run. The difference in wait time will be minimal (we already have the blanks cut for the production run) and I think the production model is a much better overall product. It will look significantly better.
I'd like to have a testing video up and the pre-order posted by the end of the month. Turn around time from pre-order to completion will be very rapid. I'm thinking under a month.
