Wow!!! Very nice. I like the use of the JWP buckles!I've wanted to make a leather briefcase/sactchel for some time now, so I finally dove in and did it

Good deal. What leather is that? Harness?I love his hardware. I use it a lot, making western leather goods.

It's natural veg tan from American Leather Direct (Chahin tanned in Mexico). I like it for this project because the temper is between Wickett and Craig on the soft end and Hermann Oak on the firmer end. It oils and ages well. The only downside I've noticed is it sun tans easier than other leathers I've used.Good deal. What leather is that? Harness?
It's a beast to make, especially the first time, but it will be easier next time I make one.Super clean. Looks like a beast to make.

Very cool! Had to look close at your kevlar cord at first. Sure looked like braided rawhide. The sheath has mounting point for a standard pocket clip, but Albatross was designed for neck carry, (hence the name lol).
The necklace is made from kevlar cord and the length is adjustable. The snaps are stainless steel, and are held to the sheath via brass screws for easy removal. It's made this way so that there's no way the necklace will strangle anyone, the snaps will break free. The thread wrap over the adjusting loops is a heavy waxed polyester thread which could be relied on in a pinch for a little extra cordage- suited for traps, or shelter etc. The loops are sewn up, so it will hold together if you need to rob the waxed thread for anything.

Very, very clean! Hadn't seen ya around in a bit.
Nothing new to report. Still wearing this sheath and same knife for almost two years now. One question for Gary. I have a good leather belt I have been wearing since 2009. The maker told me to put on some leather condition once every year, which I have done, and the belt remains in very good condition. So should I put some kind of leather conditioner on this sheath? I have some Peccard's, some Montana Pitch-Blend, and some Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP, and some Fiebing's Glycerine Saddle Soap available. JohnA fellow contacted me to make a sheath for an older folder he picked up, it's seen some use. He found an image of one of my earlier sheaths and asked to make one similar with the same leather colour, which in that case was the neatsfoot oil treatment. It's been a while since I've done that and my wife expressed concern that I would muck up her oven with 'stuff' I explained that all the oven is being used for is to heat up the leather so it will readily accept the neatsfoot oil, which I also heated up a bit before brushing it onto the leather. There were a couple of range marks that surfaced once the oil was applied but that adds character. The knife does lack a lot of contour that I usually want in a folder so the sheath will have good retention, this one will hold the knife secure but not a pop in like say the Buck 110 folders do, but, it will work fine for this knife.

Usually best to wait until they are dead or at least stunned before making a sheath out of them!lizard skin. (this one fought me, but I learned quite a bit.)
My stitching is a bit wonky on the lizard one.
