What Is Your Job?

Just left the Air Force as a civilian flight test technician working on F-16s. Moved up the road to NASA's Dryden Flight Research Facility to manage their ESD Program. Working out of their Environmental Test Lab and will be working with the shuttle, crew escap vehicle, SOFIA (Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy), and general flight test aircraft and facilities surveying and certifying their work areas are safe for ESD/EMC/EMI.

Dad was a carnie for a few years before he got in some white trash trouble and got the old "Join the Army or go to jail". He got 20 years and a retirement check out of that deal. Now he is a grumpy old E-8 with a ton of war stories lol As he says "God bless Uncle Sam and direct deposit (so he don't have to walk to the mailbox lol)

I try to not let the glamour and excitement go to my head. :D

I feel for you recently laid off guys. I've been laid off twice in the last four years, and was out of work five months in 2007. Best of luck to you.

Well, alright. I haven't worked all winter but, when the suns beating down and it's 90 degrees out, I'll be up on a roof tearing shingles off and putting them back on. :)

What - the same shingles? ;)

Currently, I'm a 'screw', which in this economic climate is really good - a steady government job in a fast-growth industry.

Product specialist for a weather based landscape irrigation controller company. Best job I ever had.

I take large pieces of perfectly good steel and make them smaller.

I used to take big rolls of paper and slap ink on them in various ways, but that got boring and then I got laid off.
