What knife would you like to see next from CPK?

Nathan had stated in the past that his philosophy on knife making is centered around traditional American knives with emphasis on modern material, design and manufacturing processes ( CAD, CNC, advancements in metallurgy, etc). While the thread topic was created for people to express their wishes, it doesn't mean that every such expression will elicit an as to why and why not response from Nathan himself. #stillnotnathan

Additionally, I doubt if Nathan will ever release any knives without handle scales because frankly speaking (no pun, OK pun!) the CPK scales are truly a very crucial part of the over all end product. Some people have removed the scales in the past to use either with bare handles (may not fit the custom made CPK kydex sheaths perfectly) or have gone with alternatives such as paracord wrapping.

PSK is a misnomer because it can be interpreted in a multitude of ways just like Nathan's favorite design of all times, i.e, a Bowie :p IIRC, Nathan had also said in the past that he will not produce a knife intended for field use under a certain thickness because that would contradict his design philosophy for his CPKs. I imagine that he would never allow some knucklehead (me for instance) to baton on a CPK which was specifically NOT designed for any such purposes.
Casino,
Yes i knew full well not every post /questions will get answered ....also i was not aware of his philosophy being more centered towards traditional American designs !...
I have noticed that the CPK handle scales do seem to be a big deal to the end product with offerings such 50 or 100 year old micarta and ecam and the various wood offerings ! But hey you never know...
My interpretation of the PSK is more inline with the PSK that Scott Gossman produces ! And after reading what his did to help a guy who's foot was caught in bear trap and that was made out of O1 steel so i was just imagining what a knife buildt in the same manner but in d3v would do ? That is all... Again i would like to thank all the people who have helped me on here ! I appreciate it !

I love the CPK scales, especially those for the DEK1!

The only person, people rather, whose opinion(s) really matter are Nathan & Jo on this subject. For lack of a better word, Nathan has been remarkably liberal (cool? tolerant?) about how and how much his knives are resold or at least has been well restrained about this subject which to me, is sign of a very confident maker who is not petty and who is not into micro managing every aspect of his products after they leave the Mothership
Just blame these flippers when the cpk shop prices go up.
Can’t go unnoticed what people will pay and a dead cert to increase margins without doing anything 😂

I disagree with this based on Nathan's general beneficence. He knows very well what his products sell for on the secondary but as I had stated, he is savvy and knows that such activities can not be micro managed after the facts and if done so in a free flowing market place where petty and vindictive actions can and will backfire. The only times when I have seen CPK raising their prices, pivoted around genuine inflationary forces on labor and material. I have never seen him raising prices even based on expanding his business which were accounted for in other fashions.

I really don't blame those who speculate, whether on the buying or selling sides but all have to understand that this a supply and demand game. For instance, there was a time back in 2017 when UFs were selling on the secondary market very much in line with the trajectory of the Shivs and in some cases for even more than the Shivs! These days, the run-of-the-mill UF will be lucky to recoup net costs because of the production increases. I am sure that Nathan will not increase his prices based on greed and member speculations but nothing will stop him from cranking up the supply chain if he feels that would be beneficial to CPK. The altruism can stop at some point because there is always a line.

this lil guy isn't even on the white board, so don't get too excited. It's gonna be a pretty cool knive, though, if I can pull off what I have in mind...
