I had a nice video chat with my boy exchanging Father's Day love. As a Dad 1000 miles apart from his Son, I can assure you that your Dad loved your zoom visit. Best to you, my friend.Haha! Nothing gets by you, Gary.
I'm getting ready to host the family Father's Day zoom meeting. Dad really likes seeing us all more often than we can travel in person, so zoom isn't all bad. I've got Grandpa's knife in my pocket.

Happy Father's Day!
Besides the horn, I like that blade.

My Son came down for Father's Day and also to give me a hand with some heavy work that I am no longer able to do . My Son was the one who paid for the Stag 73 and will one day get it , so I just wanted to carry it today . He has never been interested in knives but today he asked if he could pick out some .

I love your hat, and would like to see the entire thing. If you have enough film in your smartfone.309 today.View attachment 2902103
My daughter has an impressive shelf full of SkoobyDoo dvds, so I got the cartoon sound effect reference. The Douk-Douk Tiki balancing on a lustrous abalone shell. A contrast between man made steel and natural shimmer creating a story of craft and culture. The knife’s Turkish inspired blade, etched Tiki figure and clean lines, is a utilitarian tool with a touch of style. A fusion of industrial heritage and Polynesian myth while minimalist construction speaks to the Douk-Douk’s roots as a no-nonsense workhorse, designed for reliability rather than flash.
The abalone shell adds a bit of texture and contrast. Its rough outer edges and iridescent blues and greens whispering of ocean depths and ancient rites, while catching the light in a way that highlights the matte finish of the blade. Perhaps not an unexpected nor uncommon image composition … industrial metal meeting natural material. Honoring both the artistry of the Tiki knife and the organic brilliance of the sea. Metal and mollusk, edge and essence. A tribute to the intersection of function and beauty as the Douk-Douk Tiki turns an abalone shell into arguably, Metal Monday’s fanciest knife hammock, because even tough blades need a little luxury.
Stay sharp, my friends. Dull moments are for butter knives, uninspired Mondays and people who fear the grind; folks who think Douk-Douk is a cartoon sound effect and those who think EDC means extra dry cereal.

Jeff, been there done that about five years ago. I hope they got your left leg the same length as the right. I waited to long for the surgery and now my left leg is shorter than the right and I now have to use a cane. Doc told me he’d do his best to get both the same length but my hip was the worst he had ever seen. I was just happy to be pain free. I’ll bet you are too! I hope your recovery is speedy![]()

Kept the Wenger next to my recliner for a couple of days before I could wear pants.

I received a cool new titanium ball and socket joint in a hip last Tuesday. Put on jeans Friday and Saturday to sit on garden benches and shoot well water trying to simulate a soaking rain.
Blessed to be able to leave the walker at home and sporting a home made cane, make it to church yesterday. It was our new Pastor's first service with us, and did not want to miss it. And picked up a fat t-bone for Vik to grill for the three of us.
She did it to perfection, and I did not mock her for having to research grilling a t-bone on the internet.
First day back behind the wheel today. Made sure I quit the two narcotics they sent me home with so I could start driving.
Thanks for the kind comment, Rachel.Haha! Nothing gets by you, Gary.

That looks very nice, what covers are those?
He got it very close Dan, but I can feel it is a wee bit longer. Not even enough to be a factor.Jeff, been there done that about five years ago. I dread the thought of a knee replacement, Gary. Thanks for the kind comment, Rachel.
Of course, plenty of stuff gets by me (mostly over my head or under my radar). But it was cool to see that out of all the horses you might choose for scrimshaw on your knife with a hoof pick, you went with a horse with no hooves.
Your Grandpa's glitter gold knife for Father's Day is an honorable choice!
Thanks, Jim.Every time I see the knife, I'm delighted by its excessive ornamentation!
I saw in another thread that you have a gunboat coming your way that is much classier than my RR!
Thanks, Dave.I tend to prefer the SAK models with the Philips screwdriver rather than the corkscrew on the back side. Not sure why, though, since I'm an almost-lifelong glasses wearer and many folks tell me carrying a tiny screwdriver in the corkscrew is a treat!

I can hardly believe you're driving already in less than a week! My wife had a knee replaced a couple of years ago, and I was her designated driver for more than 6 weeks. I've heard that knees are a tougher rehab than hips, and hers was her right knee - I'll bet she could have been driving her automatic transmission Honda much sooner if her left knee was the replacement knee.
