What's your at work knife and your occupation?

I do construction/carpentry/cabinetry. My work knife is a cobalt button lock utility knife and leather man wing-man.
I'm also a Firefighter/Emt my knife of choice in that setting is either a benchmade triage or microtech RSK

I’m a Mechanical Engineer for one of those evil big pharma companies, lol! My work knife is my Leatherman Wave. I use it all the time.

Haven't seen this thread before. I work in network security/IT for a mining company, but i renovate houses on the side. When i'm in the office it's usually a Benchmade 940/943, when i'm working on houses it's usually a Cold Steel Recon 1 or any other form of Tri-ad based folder. CRK large Inkosi or PM2 is always a secondary in pocket as well.

Software engineer. The only one that stays consistent is the Leatherman Wave that I carry in the backpack. In the pocket, it varies from Spyderco to Benchmade to ZT to my custom from Yuna Knives

-Dexter russel 10" cemiter and 6" boning
-cheap lightning otf for a box cutter
-opinel No* for food prep snacks and lunch

I'm a Meat cutter.

Of course the venerable Norton im313 has always been available to me everyday for 20+ years so anyone that wanted to pay me to sharpen something got it back pretty quick lol

I take the throw away victorinox knives home and use for processing game on the side and in my gardening side gig i usually end up with that cheap otf or a svord peasant in hand for the quick one handed open and close for rope, zip ties, bags ect.

I am an electrical engineering technologist and i carry a different knife almost every day. Modern folders, slipjoints and multitools. By no means are they hard used in that setting but they do get used to open boxes, prepare cables etc. To be honest their primary function is just getting opened and closed a lot for my amusement. They are also really good for annoying others nearby.

The Wenger Esquire is in my pocket every day, and it gets used constantly. Tape breaker, hunk scraper, adhesive assassin, scissors, etc.

The folder is a Kizer Gemini most work days, or the Kizer Ursa Minor.

I’m a CNC machinist so most of the cutting during work happens in machine :D. But my Mini Grip or my Ruike p801-sf handle the rest of the cutting like opening boxes, slicing .001 shim stock, etc.

I work in Law Enforcement. I use a Kershaw Blur in S30V for most tasks along with a cheap Smith and Wesson folder with seat belt cutter and glass breaker for accidents.

IT consultant and support technician. At work it's a SAK in my bag and Opinel No.08 in the pocket. When working around the house, its usually a Helle Dokka or a Kershaw Leek, an axe and a chainsaw.

General gubmint white collar office drudge here. Most of my gun-hating, knife-hating, almost everything-hating fellow drudges view folders as being in the same category as machine guns and germ warfare delivery systems. Absolutely discreet (i.e: undetectable) carry is mandatory for me, so my office EDC is a ZT 0450 because of its size and how it disappears in my pocket without creating a Spyderco Military-size bulge. If they install metal detectors in my building, my office EDC will have to be one of those polycarbonate “CIA letter-openers”.

I come from a very heavy blue collar construction background, but after 87 went to college for architecture and information systems.

I started in the construction industry through a builder that my mom was an office manager for, and did nearly everything in the construction industry, in architectural, commercial and residential by the time I was 18.

I've held jobs in tech support where we unboxed as many as 1500+ PCs, keyboards, mice and 3000 monitors over the period of a week and installed them for a single co in Chicago. At that company we set up more than 40,000PCs over a two year period. I use to carry a small folder for protection b/c the job was in Chicago and sometimes the job would get out at 1AM on Friday and Saturday nights. I used a simple box cutter tool to open boxes, and always kept my personal protection sharp.

S.E.R.E. Instructor/Personnel Recovery Specialist and I carry just about anything and everything, but there are a few constants. A Caly 3 on academic days. My chest rig usually has a SOG multi and a Leatherman Raptor. There's almost always a Sven saw in my ruck. My belt knife is what changes a lot, sometimes a BR Bravo 1.5, other times a Carothers EDC, Spyderco Temperance, Bradford, TOPS BOB, ESEE's. I've also been known to carry a Golok in jungle environments.

I carried a Kershaw Skyline for many years as a dedicated work knife but now I cycle through all of my users (currently 16).

cabinet maker here. usually have a "SAFETY" razor knife from the company (POS) available and carry a wingman (for the clip), and a Kershaw. Rotates between the half-ton, needs work, and brawler. Solid performance to cut/scrape/fill (a la putty knife).

Knifemaker so I could carry any knife at work. I usually carry an ZDP 189 Endura to slice French bread for lunch, I use a SAK Champ for the magnifying glass until it broke and the flat screwdriver when I can't find the actual screwdriver. The tweezers come in useful when I get a metal or carbon fibre splinter.
