Firearm Recommendations?

There's actually a case in Florida where a gun owner killed a bad guy with a S&W Model 76 machine gun. He had a Class III permit and his store had been robbed by six guys. He said he could have killed all of them, but the five left alive were fleeing and he felt the danger was gone. He fired 105 rounds from a combination of the Model 76, AR15, and Remington 1100. They tried to run him down in a car, he was 63 years old at the time.

There are other examples as well but not well documented.

One thing for sure if you shoot an intruder in an anti gun state be prepared for at least $100,000 in legal expenses. Thankfully in South Carolina if "Castle Doctrine" applies there is no criminal or civil liability.

Thank you. That has been my point, in many places even if you win you lose; if not in "criminal" court, "civil" will usually follow. :( Sad but true.

It's very important to read the actual statutes in your state about using deadly force, and get a legal interpretation if necessary. The castle doctrine has been applied successfully quite often here, but it's not a panacea. The beauty of ours is the immunity from civil liability, sometimes legislators do get it right.
