Wow! That's absolutely wonderful Pete :) :) :)

Don't know how I missed such a great thread! You've seen these before, but they belong here. Both from the same vendor on different outings. $25 total. I'm going to call this guy my honey pot. That doesn't sound weird, right?

John Pritzlaff by Everkeen around 1928. Info. found by Blaine on an old catalog page. I still get giddy when I look at it!

Picked up this Ulster USA 183Y dogleg jack ( peanut ? ) for $5, like the long pull & swedge, the pen blade is more like a small sheepsfoot now, the knife is tight, no play, decent snap, bolsters are heavy the yellow scales have shrunk a little at the bolsters. Here are the before and after pics, both blades easily took a great edge.

Pete - that´s a nice classic knife in a pretty good shape. Congratz on that great find, my friend! :)

Thanks Andi, I really like Ulster in general, very well made knives. Unfortunately I was going to buy this knife last year minus the rust, but I spent my cash on a piece of jewelry my wife liked, I couldn't find the vendor selling it again until today, it seems she stored it wet, but it cleaned up nicely.

Thanks Gevonovich, Ulster never disappoints, I haven't dated it yet. Tang stamp is Ulster USA on front, back has model 183Y

Very nice Pete, hard to beat that old steel when it comes to getting sharp!!!

I like it alot.

Paul

Thanks Paul, the original owner definitely carried and used, but maintained the edge, it took only a few swipes on the stone to bring it back to a razor sharp edge. Solid little worker, & my first yellow peanut.

I picked up this Camillus #18 Jack about 4 weeks ago for $5, I've been too busy, I haven't had time to clean and sharpen it. I had trouble sleeping last night, and figured I would clean it, I forgot to take before pictures, but other then dried dirt and tarnished bolsters and liners was in good shape no rust on blades, some soap & water, sharpen and oil and this is the end product.

Other than blade wear and some digs on the back of the liners, it is in fine working condition, it's solid and has some weight to it, so I think it will help me with the renovations I'm doing I think the original owner would have wanted that, it seems like it was carried and put to work for many years.

Pete

Thanks Gevonovich, I still have to file down the kick on the clip blade, but it's a solid user, I've only gone to the flea market twice this season, my wife and daughter are keeping me busy. How has your old knife hunting been going? I had a good run last year, unfortunately with all the stuff going on around the home I've put most of my knives and other possessions into a conditioned storage space, until I sell my current home and find a new one.

Didn't find any knives at the flea market today, but I got this old display case for ten bucks.

Hi all,

Just picked up some treasure. As far as I can tell it's a Joseph Rodgers pocket knife with a Damascus steel blade. Marked Norfolk Street Sheffield on one side and has the star and Maltese cross on the other although the cross is double stamped. I would love to get some info. on this from those more knowledgeable than myself (most of you). Not sure if I will keep this or move it on but it's nice to have the option.

Cheers.

Keith.
