Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

I know I signed up for Mikes early reserve:thumbsup:
Looks like they can be great as an EDC depending on the ergonomics . Would be nice to see what the Ramshorn texture will be . Smooth or Exterior ? Will be nice to have 1 of the first .

Rushing a factory on a knife is something I have learned to shy away from. While Gianni and I were talking I mentioned mid June as well and he got that look in his eye that the date may be a bit optimistic. But then followed up with the information that parts were already being milled. They are great folks but I have expressed the excitement in the market and got the feel that he was doing every thing he could; but the move proved way more complicated that they had hoped. I too am very excited that they keep winning the Blade quality award. But I have been crowing about their products since I received my first order.

It is a CollectorKnives exclusive.

I can assure all, nobody is more excited than I am.

I hate to do this here but if I send you my name via PM can you hold my knife for me? I'll pay and all that but I'm going to be without an address start about 10 July through mid-August. I have to PCS back to the states and will have to find a house and all that.

It's Italy, you do things at their pace or not at all and receive, with patience, exquisite art. :) To be honest I wish I could live at a more sedentary pace. I would have more patience for things like this instead of being caught up in the fever of immediacy which has infected our world. :)

Thank you Mike for clearing that up. I had just assumed like the GEC SFO's that you were part of the production run rather than the entire production run.

Any updates on these? Trying to figure out if I can afford to jump on one of the 2017 BF knives...thanks.

I think the latest was around mid July.

I am selling a knife or two to cover this, since I am looking forward to a traditional that will be near impervious to the elements, while maintaining a nice working edge...

I don't have many traditionals that I can stick in my pocket and not care about 105° heat and my perspiration.

Thanks, I must've missed that :)

Np, I can't recall exactly where I read it, but that time frame does stand out to me.

Question, how long will a 'sure' reserve hold for? I don't have a phone for texts and it might take me some hours to make the purchase. Will I lose it if I don't get in with the initial mad rush that we saw with the #25's? I really really don't want to miss this knife.

You will get an email (not a text) when your "Sure Reservation" is available for purchase. The email contains a link that you click on to make the purchase. You have 24 hours after the time stamp on that email to make the purchase.

24 hours is perfect! I don't live in the US but have a US address to mail to and that takes care of the time difference. Many thanks!

Good. I was kinda wondering about that too, since we don't have cell service where I live & the SMS (text) notification announcement on the CK site had me worried that I might miss out. I put in my "sure" reservation when these were first announced.

OK, I went round and round. Started thinking I wanted to try rams horn, looked hard at abalone, and finally decided CF was the way to to with the modern steel and ti bolsters. I don't think you can go wrong with any covers on this though. I hope there is another run with a blade shape I prefer more, but I guess this fills a hole in my Barlow collection, as it isn't normally a blade I'd go for in GEC barlows.

I've pre-ordered rams horn. I really love the idea of a quality steel, single blade traditional knife like this. I'm a little less than nuts about the blade shape, not having a piercing point. If you look at the picture of the barlow, and draw a line from the back just past the nail nick to the tip, it could become a clip. :) I hope these go like wildfire and more offerings can follow. Maybe some with pins rather than screws.
I have a knife that was designed in Germany, made in Italy, and sold in Canada, with CPM S90V. The build quality is great, so I look forward to this knife, being made in Italy.

Take a look at the quote below. The 14 shown used to be a spear.
Still enjoying my little ebony #14 that I modified into a clip!

I am really thinking this will be a home run knife. If it is typical Lion Steel fit and finish, then it will be second to none. I for one am excited about a traditionally inspired knife with modern materials. But, I can understand how traditional guys just don't "dig" it.

This is my most anticipated knife of the year so far. The steel is awesome, and I really like the look of the knife. A very nice mix of modern and traditional. It'll also be my first knife with ram's horn covers.

If it works out well, I'll definitely be looking for a second one, to mod with some canvas micarta covers.
