...Especially beyond the OHT / New Soldier circle. I've seen folks mention some good ones. Since my 1st real SAK was a Wenger I would like to see more Wenger love, but I'm guilty as well because my vote is a Rucksack / Hunter toss-up.

Until today I just had one , a Spartan. Now I also have a Farmer. For everyday carry I voted for the Spartan simply because of the toothpick.

Since I started carrying a Swisstool Spirit on my belt last December, the only actual SAK I've been carrying is the same Vic Executive I've carried the past several years. I like it because I find use for every feature on it. Though I could probably get by fine with just the basic Classic. IMO, the Executive is an excellent but highly underrated knife.

Vic Ranger for me. Next one will be a SwissChamp.

I really like this SAK, I use to think the Outrider was the shit, I still like it but I really like the fieldMaster.

I beat the snot out of my Farmer on a daily basis and it keeps on coming back for more.

i didnt vote initially, cause i only had 3. now ive added a couple more, and i have also chosen the one hand trekker. i love the locking blade and large screwdriver that locks. plus, everytime i open the large blade, it reminds me of the spyderco opening hole. its just fun. the only downside is the weight in my pocket. ive used clip knives for 20 plus years, and only small knives were in pockets. so i need another way to carry the trekker, OR, i will just drop it in my PSK.

I picked the Swisschamp because it got me into SAKs years ago. Almost neck and neck would have to be the Farmer followed closely by the Classic and then the Rambler, etc.

I picked the Huntsman but add the Swisschamp/Compact/One-hand Trekker and Farmer to complete my top 5.
If they made a Huntsman with pliers added that would be the tops for me, or better yet a Compact with saw and pliers layers, that would be pretty much be everything you need in just 4 layers!
:)
Also add a set of stayglow scales, lol!

Wenger is on the board!

I expected a bit more votes for Wenger actually. Once a year I find and buy a box of pocket knives on a Dutch trading site, a seller once told me they were confiscated. Over 90% of these knives are SAKs and about 10% are Wengers. Also, about 75% of the SAKs are the models with two layers, like the Spartan, Tinker, Compact, Sportsman, Tourist etc. Please note that the numbers mentioned are not exact.

I am aware that a lot of people who carry a SAK or other knife in their pocket are not knife people, they are people like my father and sister. They just carry a knife because it is such a useful tool.

I expected a few more votes also. Actually, I probably should have put in a vote for Wenger since the Victorinox Soldier (one of my votes) is nearly the same as the Wenger Standard Issue and I sometimes alternate between the two.

Your comment about the confiscated knives is interesting but it may or may not reflect what people would choose as their favorite - mostly it is just an indication of what they carry. People often buy and use whatever's on sale or more reasonably priced. This may also partially explain the prevalence of the relatively inexpensive 2-layer models.
