Relaxing with an old friend on this cold winter day and reminiscing of our summer adventures 😊

Nature pics will hopefully follow … if I manage to get off the couch 😀

Did you happen to drag your couch out onto the porch? 😁

Meako, could you post a link to your label write up. My tube only came with the front Blade Forums 2022 Knife label. I'd like to print out your bunny knife history, and coil it up inside the tube. Thanks.

Same here. No back label.
Charlie posted that pic for you...Cheers.
Well Jon, at least it hadn’t progressed forward into your nether regions! Now that would have been a challenge. 😜
The swelling caused by its anticoagulant toxins did just that...
Hehehe butt-tick
Hehehe
Haha that tickled me.
They do walk meako meako - up or down. Up from your socks or down from your hair. Sometimes they just wait until the better parts are revealed before they make their move. They go where other creatures dread to be left alone. 😉 Shaking out your clothing and a vigorous shower scrub within a few hours of being outdoors could save you from the next indignity. 🤭

I agree though - in principal. Our lives have changed with the proliferation of ticks. :poop: Gone are the days of a happy on your back in the grass evenings under the stars watching meteor showers or the auroras or some other delightful past time. Running with wild abandon through piles of dry leaves is a no no too. What's become of this place?

Anyway, my Brother, take care of yourself. Good on you for having the freezing spray. Maybe see through pants will be useful. 🤔
My theory is it was somewhere on my clothes and got into bed with me...
What ! ... No pictures to share with the Porch meako meako ? As in a traditional knife helping you detach that hideous parasitic arachnid ? 🤪😄
Nobody wants to see that picture! And Nobody is going near that site with a knife..unless its a life saving proctological surgery procedure.

Icy and fresh today with glorious sunshine so I went to the

Harcourt Arboretum

I get free entry,whoopee.

Lots of rare trees, its a very well maintained place without looking artificial.

That Redwood is 250 years old,so how old are those US redwoods that are 10 times the size?

Theres a nice easy path for people like me, but you are allowed to wander off so I did in places.

No cafe nearby, so I took a flask and made a hot chocolate.

Theres loads of benches and tables they encourage you to have a picnic, its very friendy,

I chose a bench facing the sun,I was naughty and shared my biscuits with the peacocks who where mithering me,I shouldnt have done it.

The girl on ticket sales was very chatty and helpful, everone should be like that it makes you feel welcome.

I took my Opinel as its described as a garden knife.

The walker is a great tool as well.

No ones going to go oh thats nice or wow,but its the perfect outdoor companion to a bigger knife.

It gives you a saw,an extra blade and a combi tool which opens cans etc,all in a light package.

Tweezers for ticks and I use the tooth pick if need be.

Drove home and fell asleep at least 5 times in my chair 🤣 🤣 🤣

Gracias amigos :)

Today we went back to Summerstown Forest trails. Diana and our daughter took to the walking trails and I went xc skiing.

I asked Melody to take a pic of her knife while out in the trails so I could share it here and she obliged

She picked her Case small stockman in Ebony.

And this is her collection :)
The Rough Rider canoe was her first one. She loved it 😍 when she saw it a little while after I got it so I gave it to her.
The engraved Case mini copperlock was her 13th birthday present and then came the stockman for Christmas a couple years ago.
She tells me 3 knives is plenty and is perfectly happy with her little collection 😄

Is there some legal requirement to translate everything?

In Ontario there is no law requirement at the provincial level however it is quite common to see both languages on certain signs, brochures etc.

Federal services on the other hand must all be provided in both official languages.
Packages on all products at the stores are in both languages in 🇨🇦

Our area of Eastern Ontario ( close to Quebec ) has a very large French speaking population.

It is very interesting as you could be in an English speaking village one minute, drive only 10 miles and find yourself in a different world where everyone mainly speaks French.

A number of jobs around here have a bilingual requirement in order to apply.

Quebec laws are very strict on the other hand and getting even stricter : ex fonts on any signs must be much larger in French and many other requirements that are enforced by a branch of government informally referred to as the “language police”.
“Vive la difference” 😊

“Couteau Lapin” ? 🤔
