That apricot looks like some nasty stuff.

It was much harder than I thought it would be. I think if it had been fully dry, that I could have got it lit with just the ferro rod. Or if I had gone ahead and produced some fine dust/scrapings using the spine of the blade, they should have taken a spark. You can see in one of the pictures where the sparks very nearly lit the curls. Even though it was harder wood, I took advantage of the weather-checks and it split reasonably well.

Had a little quality time with my old 4.1. Nothing fancy, but it's fun to work with a great knife.
