What is this tree called? It doesn't shed leaves, they stay on the tree till spring, they are yellowish at first and then turn almost white by spring.

We had 1 snow fall here in Pa 3-6in. It was gone in 2-3 days.

Yup it's a beech, some people call them ghost trees and those leaves are an amazing winter fire-starting material

Thanks, she’s a boxer/english pointer mix. She’s 80lbs and goofy like most boxers.

Probably the best thing about my job is that I occasionally get to take blades on hikes while on-duty.

Today I got a report of some trees down over a fire road, but due to recent rains I decided to hike in via single track trails so as not to get my truck stuck in the mud.

I brought my Council Velvicut boys axe and my Busse Dirt Dart Steel Heart:


Also had my Talwar in my pocket:


And various other stuff:


Found a couple of oaks:



And another oak:


And another unidentified small tree that I took out with the Busse just for fun:
