Carothers and Guns

Every singe Cold War fan must have MP5. lol
I recognize that roller delayed action are most reliable , but it’s too heavy and today SIG made the one of the best gas system. It’s lighter, reliable and cheaper. I’m MPX guy, no doubt. My friend got palmetto ak9 or something like that. I’m think about it as well. Looks like a shit, but shooting very well
I was thinking of picking up an AK pistol and modernize it, but can't get over the fact that it does look like shit 😓

No offense, I’m kidding. I know guys whose love how’s sab2000 look like. He’s working like a watches, that’s important. For me, all PPC looks disproportional.

Which at last? The Omega 9k or your form 1 take forever too?

I would ask if it was a registered sear but the safety selector I think it’s a Binary in there
The can, right at 6 months. I lucked out on the form 1 prior to the brace ruling and got it in 3 days. Mailed out the form on Friday and got the stamp on Thursday. Good eyes on the FA trigger pack too, I'm not a big fan of the rough creep on that but it's the closest thing to a sear and I don't have sear money and likely won't drop 40k on one, think its about how much they run these days.

I sent off 2 paper form 4s back in February, and with the brace stuff I did several form 1s back in April (mainly on guns I didn’t want to engrave). Wasted 40 minutes of my life last week and called atf about them cause none has been approved, to find that one form 4 was approved 9-15 and the other form that was mailed at the exact same time….still pending.

The form 1s I did got approved yesterday, 5 months later….. I even got a UPIN years ago to help with this crap (suggestion by ATF) and it’s meant nothing. If the system was consistent I probably wouldn’t be so pissy right now but it’s only consistent at sucking. In the 12 years of my NFA run I e had anywhere from a 2.5 month form 4 wait all the way to 18 months. Ehhhh

Sear packs been averaging 45+ lately. Really depends if it comes with a host or not. Friend of mine picked one up recently for 40 but was in a SEF pack and that’s it. Several host guns, $1k for refinish/remark/making sear ready per host, plus the grand for a 4 position pack and having the sear fitted to it……. He went down a rabbit hole badly

M67 M67 I learned a few tricks from Reddit recently. If you sent in a batch of form 4s you can try asking for a batch approval by sending and email to your approver with a polite request. Some get it some don't and thats just how that system works. Form 1s kind of got pushed back a bit due to flood of brace approvals and they did stop all approvals for a while when that wave first came in.

On general approvals it's a finger pointing game. The ATF claims, and maybe rightfully so, that they can't do jack without the FBI first approving the background check. Again you can send the FBI a request asking for status to an email that ends with liason (with the typo, this is the correct one, you can Google the rest as I'm not sure if I can post it on here). Once it goes through FBI it's just a matter of days before the ATF gets it and hopefully pushes through in a timely manner.

If anything those two things would help and I've heard good success stories. Hope it may help out some of you guys here too.

I wouldn't know what to do if i had 45k burning a hole in my pocket to be honest. Maybe I'll grab a semiauto SAW just for crap and giggles, and a P7M13. I missed the days when you could actually see them at the stores for around a grand.

ATF loves to blame the FBI for the checks but I’ve been repeatedly told the ATF is conducting their own background checks now and has been for a little bit. Not sure how true that is or not

As for the batch approvals, it should do it by default since they have control numbers and checks in place. I had 4 paper form 4s approved all at once before mailed same time (then had 1 take 18 months and took getting ahold of someone who cared and sent and email to the examiner like wtf is going on here). Friend with the sear pack just got 3 back on silencers. Years ago a different friend had 10ish forms approved all at once, some were 5-7 months old and one was only 6 weeks cause when one check got approved for him they purged and approved all his forms (1 and 4s)

Only thing that is consistent is their inconsistency.
