companies with horrible management and great owners...

I guess my last statement went right over your head. He has time to do a little PR here on a public forum vs emailing me back or questioning me personally. He has every right to come here, I just think it was ill advised about correspondence when you say your going to be in conference meetings all day. See where I'm going here?

I woulda told you I had meetings all day too from what I've read.

Sounds like you want to be the only one who is allowed to make their point openly. What goes around comes around.

I just got off the phone with the shipping carrier. Lies and more lies. Time to delete this thread.

Ah! The shipping carrier is in on it too! It gets deeper and deeper. I bet the mods dont delete the thread. Know why? Also part of it.

You bet your ass I'm a hothead but I'm also the customer. It takes some serious backlash to provoke me. For the record, I can't stand customers that whine and raise hell when products don't fulfill their demanding needs. I can't tell you how many times I've bashed ignorant customers leaving negative comments on products. If I come to a public forum to address my concerns about a certain company, its a real issue. No crying wolf here.

Like I said before, this thread needs to be deleted.

That's a very ignorant comment. Lies pertains to information given to me by the shipper(Microtech) concerning the claim. Dishonesty on their end. I wouldn't blame Microtech as a whole, just the a certain member of management that is prideful and refuses to accept responsibility.

Yes...I can tell how much it takes to provoke you. You seem pretty level headed.

Sorry...I'm going with Mr Greenberg and the company he is affiliated with as the "good guys." Don't own any of their products and haven't considered owning one. But he seems to be the one standing up here reasonably and respectfully.

...He told me the tip of the knife breaking was "ignorant man user error" and that microtech will not be held liable...

To me this is the root of the problem. First Alchemy pulled a boner and broke of the tip. That is truly "ignorant man user error" and no company should be held liable. He should come to Microtech with "hat in hand" and beg forgiveness for abusing a wonderful blade, ask them if it can be fixed and how much. He should have paid for shipping himself and boxed it himself, since it certainly is not a warranty repair. We've all broken tips by doing something stupid, I did it to a Spyderco, and nobody should expect it fixed for free, unless the company has a repair for free policy.

Microtech may want to record warranty calls. It helps to protect employees from unreasonable customers and keeps employees on their best behavior.

My first call, I spoke to salesman by the name of Mark Stilts. He was highly disrespectful. He actually cursed me out for a good 30 seconds. Yes... Cursed me out. I called by to speak to someone higher up in command and they apologized for his actions. 2 days later I received a forced apology from Mr. Stilts. I was also told that he was suspended for 3 days. Hmmm... That was a lie. I had 4 different people call microtech over the next week and spoke to him directly each time. I didn't call them out on it because I wanted my knife repaired.

I stopped reading at the part where you had 4 accomplices call up the shop to help you(?) assuage your hurt feelings.

Let's see how you act when members of management bold face lie to you. Big difference between handling a warranty vs lies and snapping on clients. I guess your a good christian boy who turns his cheek too, huh?

So hank shows humility, apologizes, and respects a customer and the forum in general. Then alchemy clarifies the problem by showing what kind of character he has. I have no affiliation or even any knife from microtech but when you publicly try to humiliate that company -- and I'm all for good fair objective reviews and information... -- you should be man enough to stand by your words and actions and let others judge you in the same manner in which you seek to judge them. I hope this thread stays open.

And let's not forget that he did it while creating a video review. Though I'm sure it wasn't a case of a video test to destruction succeeding and then asking for a warranty repair.

I'm sorry but but S30v steel shouldn't snap an inch and half from the tip doing light prying in dead pine. I've tested hundreds of knives and I don't abuse them. I have a great track record and this is the first costly production knife to ever fail like this with me. First, when I called the first time about this issue... I didn't expect microtech to do a damn thing. I requested information on the blade design intended use. The salesman told me it was a 100% tactical defense/offense weapon. Not intended for any type of work other than cutting through flesh and bone. Zero utility knife. Pretty much its uses are similar to a spyderco civilian. I was like... Nowhere is that listed in the description of the knife with any retainer including microtech. I could tell then that he was getting pissed off. Then the ignorant man comments followed then the 30 second curse out.

Again, I didn't expect microtech to do a damn thing. I didn't demand xxxx. Management is the one that made him write an apology and offered to pay for shipping to return the knife.

Having read the entire thread here, it seems like there was something done to cause Mark to get agitated with you David. I am sure that being in a customer service role Mark would not have cursed at you with out you cursing to him first, that being said I have personally known Mark for many years, he is a level headed Vet and only loses his cool when others have lost it first. For example I have been in the bar with him on a few occasions having a few drinks, and have watched him get shoved and even punched in the face and smile about it while asking for it not to happen again. I am pretty sure that the last time this happened he may have received a broken nose, during that experience he didn't even hit the guy back, just escorted him to the door and let him go outside to deal with the police, even turned down pressing charges since the guy who hit him was drunk. He really is a stand up guy until he is pushed too far( as with everyone in the world). So before continuing to make false accusations about a single person whom you have already caused enough problems ( he did almost lose his job because of you and the lies you started with his boss) you should remember that the customer is not always right, usually they have just been pampered over the course of their entire life, and have been brain washed by the rest of the peace loving hippies in the world. You seem like a tough guy until you are pushed back, and then cower and complain when you don't get your way.. Way to be a man..
This will be the only post that I will make and will be removing my account on here since I have said my piece.
Good day to all and remember that the world is a crappy place because of the people allowed to exist in it.......

Microtech Knives

This Microtech fixed blade knife, the Crosshair, is an incredibly well built and sturdy combat knife. This knife will stand up to nearly everything you can throw at it. The full tang double edged blade is black. The polymer handle is black and comes standard with a braided lanyard and a heavy duty Kydex bladetech sheath. If you are looking for the best of the best fixed blade combat knives, you just found it with the Microtech Crosshair.

Guys

On a brighter note.... I look forward to seeing and meeting old and new friends at Blade Show. If you have time to swing by the booth come by and introduce your self to me even if you see I'm busy ( I can muti task ). We are unveiling some new knives there and we welcome everyones opinions and thoughts

Sorry for adding to any drama ( seriously I am ).

Microtech must be an awesome company to work for. I'm sending in my application now!

It actually is.

If your saying Strongarm is a Microtech Employee, I have no clue , but there are quite a few Microtech employees that go out and hang out with each other. You can't be upset if one of Marks friends come here to stick up for him.

Anyway..... again sorry for the drama.....it shouldn't be welcomed and I am going to attempt to bow out gracefully. I am sure everything will work out just fine minus the hiccups along the way.

Yeah... Its Mark and no he doesn't have the right to stick up for his ownself. He only deserves respect for serving in the military . as a customer service representative... He needs to be put in check and an attitude adjustment set forward.

Whoever the mod is governing this subforum... You can delete this thread. I know where this is going to go. I can say a whole lot that will piss a great many off but I will be the adult here. I respectfully ask to delete this thread. Thank you.

Threads aren't deleted around here. That would be destroying evidence. Which is exactly what you are asking for. This evidence stays out in the open so others can research folks to see what type of member you are. Stuff might get pulled off line and moved, but not deleted.

Another person buying in to marketing and ad copy. Notice how they didn't actually define anything in that ad?

You broke your knife because of abuse. Microtech should not replace it. They probably shouldn't have even asked for you to return it. Maybe grind it down for you but that is it.
