I'm gushing over this one Lorien and I ain't shyting you! I've always wanted a STOUT survival knife in the 7" proximity and something that fits my hands like a friggin glove. Judging by what I see from your pics / videos, we may have similar sized hands but I could be wrong (I'm M+ L- and go with both M and L Mechanix at 8 3/4).
Like Casino , my panties are wet also !!!!

Looks pretty cool Lorien, can't wait to see the finished result!

May i ask why you chose to make the finger choil that shape instead of a regular circle? - or half circle i should say

Cheers

half circles are teh ghey.

take a stroll through the thread, you'll find the info that you seek

Lorien- please don't say "girth", and I believe between .20 & .22 might be around .21 , I could be wrong tho'. I often am. ;) :D

Keep on rolling out the teaser updates Lorien.

With something like this, being a true survival type knife, what is the possibility of it having a 90 degree spine? That small feature helps so much in fire building. It's great for scraping tinder but is also nice for use on a firesteel when your lighter gets when on a trip where you get caught in the rain and have no other source of fire. I prefer not to use the edge of the knife for anything besides cutting and gutting :)

Just a thought you guys are the knife designers here.

I've given that some thought, and I'm not sure what the answer will be. My hope is that we prototype this knife first, and that when I get the proto I can mess around with it and find a safe option for a feature like that, integrated into the design

If not, creating a strike area should be a simple modification for those who want to use the knife for this purpose

90 degree spine is a great feature on a dedicated survival knife
You can :
- scrape tinder from trees
- scrape a ferro rod
- use it to crush bones
All around a good feature to have (except on the thumb ramp lol)

Exactly. I don't like the ferro notch anymore because it's only use is for a firesteel
