Casinostocks Casinostocks I bet yours is in the same bunch!

EDIT: Man guys, I don't always get knives, but when I do, they're always on the same day. My DEK1 preorder is supposed to arrive Thursday, and my KnifeJoy Slysz Bowie that shipped last Wednesday by UPS is finally supposed to show up with an updated delivery time of... Thursday.

Congtarts on having yours on the way. I knew that you wouldn't be the last to receive DEK1s, not by a long shot ;)

Nathan had stated up to one year from the time that preorders close for the orders to fully fulfill and I've always been good with Nathan's timescale. Mine will get here when they're done, no worries on that

I'm still learning. I dithered back and forth on the K18 preorder and ended up somewhere just ahead of the middle of the pack. I jumped right away on the DEK1 preorder in the hopes of getting them faster; but I forgot that logically the K18 was going to be basically delivered in post order because there was no customization, while the DEK1s were such a hodgepodge of customizations that post order wouldn't have nearly as much to do with how soon I'd get them as what order Nathan ended up doing the different customization types in.

What percentage of DEK1’s leave you all’s facility with a sharpened tip, swedge and all?
How many DEK1 point configurations leave CPK? Regular, sharpened swedge, sharpened tip or penetrator tip??? Perhaps someone can explain with photos 😁

Please reconsider using sentences like: “I’ve kicked enough ass and had my ass kicked enough...” because some of us have senior grade vision and without wearing glasses, k can look like L.

After reading this entire thread, which is in equal measure informative and hilarious...two things spring to mind.

one - Nathan must have brought a new keyboard because the AEB and L keys are worn out.

two - never ask casino to get his DEK out

There are only a few with a sharpened tip and maybe 20-30 with a "penetrator point".

We're not going to continue to offer these points on this pattern in the future. The pattern was never designed to be this way, and these are low volume modifications that we're not really set up for (I'm just doing them by hand and eye with monkey meat interpolation) that are both time consuming to setup and risky due to cutting on an otherwise finished ready-to-ship knife without a setup part to prove out the process when it occasionally comes up. It would be different if it were a standard part of the work and I had fixtures but it isn't. Sometimes you see these kinds of details on other knives that have a lower bar for fit and finish but (for better or for worse) our customer base has very high expectations for our work and, with an occasional manual process like this, it is difficult to meet those expectations. I'm loosing money on them and I don't think they're a particular good value for the end user either. It was a bad idea.

Don't mind me as I'm just messing around with my new toy (Canon EOS M50). Man I got sick and tired of getting dumbed down on my photography basics using iPhones which made things so much easier to just point and shoot versus using a real camera. If Tommy approves, I'm on my way ;)

Wow! I love my DEK1, and my sons love theirs! I love the way the knife feels in my hands, and the wood is gorgeous! I think it's Osage Orange but I'm not sure. It looks kinda like the Cocobolo scales that another person posted earlier in the thread. Whatever the wood is, it's gorgeous! Way to go guys! Thanks Jo, Nathan, Lorien, and everyone at CPK - outstanding work! My DEK1 will be on my belt when I kick the bucket. I've decided to EDC it.
I figured that my oldest son would want me to put the Double Black Micarta scales on his knife, but he loves the Red & Black Linen Micarta scales that came mounted on his knife. I'll have to send my youngest son a photo of all the scales and see which ones he wants mounted on his knife. He may want to keep the Green & Black Linen Micarta scales that came mounted on his too.
I took these photos at my sons house because I visited my grandbabies and didn't think that I would receive my knives until Monday. But they arrived right before I took off to visit the babies. I'll take some better photos later today with my camera on the stand. I took these photos freehand. All three have the swedge and penetrator tip. I forgot to ask for black hardware.
I love my knife and I am very happy! Thanks again!!
