Go Large--The BF Big Folder Thread

Just got one of those (.75 AR) end of last week. It has blue titanium scales and is an excellent heavy duty knife. Nice knife you have.

It's a true Navaja (a concealable pocket sword.) A very old time tested and proven design optimizing effectiveness as a weapon that can hidden on one's person in an environment where swords are illegal.

Leave it to Cold Steel to mass produce a fully functionable modern version. By the way the Cold Steel version would have been considered one of the more moderate sizes as they were generally huge (and you thought the CS version is huge.) Don't write it off. It's an effective fearsome sword like weapon.

If someone pulled that out I would run like no tomorrow even though a modern firearm is a much better choice these days.

What I find ridiculous are the relatively (compared to a real Navaja) tiny knives called Navajas that are really small knives shaped like Navajas. They pass them off as Navajas but they are not. They are generally very nice to look at but are really regular average or even large sized pocket folders not Navajas.

The biggest I can go is a Leatherman Wave. And its is a bit heavy in a pocket. Just bearable/wearable in a horizontal belt pouch.

In the 1990s, I used to EDC a Buck 110 in a pocket, but I was younger then. It was always awkward to carry and deploy.

I have been given a large Spiderco (can't find the model). It is thin and light for its length, but really too much knife for city wear . . .for me anyway. Hurts my thumb to deploy even though I've radiused all the sharp edges.

Years ago, I bought a Cuda Maxx; the Camillus made clone of the Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx 5.5" dagger. It deployed like an automatic knife, but that is huge and not my style for EDC in the city. Gave it to an active-duty Marine.

I've been thinking of another flipper design as in a CRKT M21, but plenty of folks here gave that a quality down check.
