Great Eastern Cutlery ( GEC ) group shots / photo requests

Fan, I was very fortunate to find this red stag 72-- it has amazing stag and is one of the prettiest of all GECs.

Very nice Jeff, alot of nice ones in those drawers. That red stag is beautiful. They need to make more of that for sure.

Trand, this picture almost had me persuaded to purchase a 56, love the shape of the handle and the slope of the clip blade.

Then the Case 6207 mini trapper jack arrived, and the fever subsided! The curve of the 6207's handle is more like a 48 than a 56, but I'm satisified with it.

Thanks again for your lovely photography, and excellent comparison shots.

You're welcome Doug. I've yet to handle a Case 6207 mini trapper jack but I've got my eye out for one. You should look up the Queen #51 mini trapper jack too to get one in D2.

Here are a couple of my GEC cases. The first is all #53 Cuban stockmen (1 spot left for a caribou stag I have yet to score!)

This case has most of the rest of my equal end #53/54 patterns, my jacks and a couple of toothpicks.

Jeff, great to see all the #53s together!! I really hope you find that caribou!!. As for the second pic, I see a lack of curly maple or wormy chestnut... ;)

I agree, I'm much more of a fan of the older red stag than the new stuff. They are making knives in redstag but the last few have only had red highlights in the bark rather than a full red dye.

Wow, Jeff. That's a fine Cuban display. I was slow to appreciate the big 53/54s but I'm really taken with them now. Should you tire of that snakewood big jack, give me a shout.

You have a nice assortment there piston, would love to see more pics. Especially that 57 lined up at the tang with that 56 and 85 and, well you get the point :D

Thanks, This what you had in mind? 72, 57, 85, 56

Thanks, bass. Those double long pulls are kinda' sexy, aren't they? They only made 12 of those, so I'm pretty blessed to have it.

Thank you very much Piston. I wish I could add all of those to my collection :D. That stag on the 85 and green on the 56 are very nice. Which one is your favorite?

Not really sure which one I would call my favorite, I like each one for different reasons. The 25 and 72 have gotten the most pocket time. Cant bring myself to pocket that 33 but I have another 33 on the way that I am anxious to try.

way to sneak edit another pic in and I hope you enjoy that apple 33. If it had a bail attached it would have been headin to arkansas ;) By the pics in this thread their is no denying the bang for buck of usable knife you get with the 33. It is at the top of my list for sure.

I can't let Trand and Mamba have all the fun...so here's a couple

Thanks! Your selection is right up my alley, in both specific patterns (white owl, barlow) and in your accessible variety of GEC knives. I like these pictures a lot.

(Of course I also enjoy Black Mamba's and Trand's and others' Grand Collections, including Boggs' Crazy Talk-- what else to call all those uber-shiny GECs?!-- but they leave me speechless and a little intimidated!)

Here is my entry, an assortment of sizes.

Cattle King in black lip looking glass. This knife is my go to knife if I want just a slipjoint, 3 blades and a punch. I love the change in the pearl, it completed the threesome of pearl (white, gold and black lip)for me.

Executive Whittler in stag. I bought this as a graduation present when started as a massage therapist. My favorite GEC overall

Prototype #3 Conductor in red bone. I like this knife but would prefer the variant with the coping blade and possibly a bail as well. Perhaps I'll find one in a trade some day.

Courthouse Whittler in red palm. I traded into this to find out how a more robust wharncliffe would be from GEC. I love the palm, but wish they would have maximized the length a bit more on the wharncliffe.

Sorry, I don't do model numbers well.
