Jack Black Jack Black you did it again...got me hungry. It doesn't matter whether I just ate or not...every time I look at your post, I get hungry :)

Well, my deck is finished...it took a little long but not too shabby having done it alone  Also got the gazebo started!

Maybe when CelloDan CelloDan CelloDan CelloDan opens his foster home for the bread-hungry and cake-nedy, he'll take you in too Jer! ;) :D

 :D lol

I'll be so very happy if I ever get the chance to share my sourdough with you Jack and Jer and any Guardians :)
I have not baked as often as I used to for the past couple of rather hot months but I am ready to bake more regularly now that boating and camping are mostly over for this year.

Here is a recycled pic to get my mind to focus again on bread baking :)

That looks absolutely scrumptious! I'll bring the smoked ribs, who'll brings the beer?

Thanks Dan :) You have had an adventurous year my friend, and it's been a real treat to share some of those adventures with you through your wonderful posts :) Those 3 loaves look incredible Dan, and a wonderful back-drop to your Hartshead Barlow :)

Good morning Guardians, much cooler weather here this week, and it's raining today. I don't have much work on at the moment, but I'm sure some will find me  Thought I'd carry my Charlie Lamb today :) Have a good day everyone

It's rained all day here. I went out, and into town anyway, as I needed to do some grocery shopping, can't say it was a pleasant trip  Been sorting out my tool-boxes the past couple of hours, I have far too many of them :D Cheering myself up with a pie - photo when it comes out of the oven! :D

Thank you Jack for the kind words :)
Cool pic of your Charlie lamb with the pie

I just took out my starter from the fridge and I'll be feeding it and refreshing it for a couple days to wake it up and get it going strong.
We'll be visiting family in London Ontario next weekend so hopefully I can bring them some loaves.

How incredibly thoughtful Dan, I can't think of a nicer gift than home-baked bread :)

Rhyming Slang-as in rhymes with beer, it is pronounced Galeer. Perc Galea was a amazing character. He was a council worker and fitness fanatic, one Sunday a huge rip developed at Bondi beach in Sydney and over 100 people had to be rescued, he is credited with swimming out and rescuing drowning swimmers back to shore then going back out again, he is reputed to have saved 10 people on his own. He then won the Opera House lottery which helped fund the building of the iconic Sydney landmark the Opera House. With his winnings he went onto become a gambling czar, opening and running illegal casinos and was a huge race horse punter in the Sydney betting ring, an amazing character and Sydney identity. Hope this helps.

This sumptuous meal of yours immediately reminded me of my favorite Pub/Restaurant called Ye Olde King's Head (in So Cal.) Spent a bit of time there and enjoyed the food; Bangers and Mash was one dish which could also be ordered as Bangers and Beans. :)
Thanks JJ, sounds like a great place to eat :)
Smoked ribs and coleslaw.... life is good.
Bon appetit Ted! :)

Aha! Thanks Leon, I came across Perc Galea, but couldn't find a reference to the rhyming slang, great way to be immortalised :) The names traditionally associated with the London rhyming slang probably mean very little to most folks these days, eg Joe Baksi (taxi) or Ruby Murray (curry) :D

Good morning Guardians, hope everyone in our thinning ranks is keeping well  Miserable midweek day here, carrying my Hartshead Barlow to brighten my day ;) Have a good one folks

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣. Boat Race-Face. Tom- Jewelry { Tom Foolery}. Bubble - Greek { Bubble and Squeak }. They would not know what you are talking about now. o_O;)

No, though newer phrases still occur, with the Scots, for example, also having their own particular rhyming slang, from which, for instance we get a name for the Scottish football team, Hearts of Midlothian, and it's supporters - Jambos - rhyming 'Hearts' with 'jam tarts' :D

" Have a look at the boat on Jimmy the bubble, he looks like he's been on the kitchen for a week, and have look at all that bugs hanging out of his sky rocket ".o_O🤣🤣;). He'll have to go and see the jar and have his rubbish bins absolved .
