Hawaii Knife Life - daily use for work and play

yes Sir. been traveling for work. 2 states in a couple weeks. got back late yesterday from la, ca. was colder there than home. bachelor this week family traveling in Mississippi. long boring story to this statement...so yes very restful.;) hope y'all also had a great St. Patty's day.

Sounds like you and your family are traveling quite a bit, I hope everyone gets home safe.

I got one, so far I like it a lot. Has your clip become loose? Mine has, just have to find right size Alan wrench.

It has not come loose on this one. I do have a light 110 that had a clip that snapped. Buck Warranty sent me a brand new clip, pre-thread locker applied screws, a cool sticker, and a coupon.

First rate warranty and first rate company!

T6 will do it.

Thank you sir!

great pics there and a great knife. what a view........gotta love hawaii......

Can’t complain :)

How's the fit and finish on that slim pro 112? I really want one but I hear the quality isn't quite to my specs.

The quality is on par for normal Buck production. Good, but not perfect. As a user knife...it’s great! And very, very light.

Congrats on the GAW ... you are IMHO one of the good guys (there are a bunch) ... but love following your thread and seeing you USE your knives ....

Thanks brother, I appreciate that. FYI...you have excellent taste in trucks!

I decided to pull the trigger and buy a slim pro in micarta ( on my way to work actually ),but I handled the 110 and liked it a little better so that's what I got (after picking through a couple with some significant blade play).I carried it all night at work and hardly noticed it in my pocket. Slowly falling in love with this knife thanks for turning me on to it. this is my first knife with micarta scales too so I can't wait to see how it wears over time. Ps - Paul Bos heat treat

I put the King to work this morning smashing, bashing, prying, and cutting.

I wanted to share some pictures of what’s happening to our oceans. The amount of trash is staggering.

These shorelines have been cleaned multiple times over the years, and as you can see, results don’t last long.

The minuscule pile I’ve collected pales in comparison to what the ocean holds.

Lost of commercial fishing stuff, car parts, household items, and plastic everything under the sun.

Please be aware and do your part to reduce, reuse, recycle.

I use a Silky and a BK9 quite often, excellent combo that can pretty much take care of anything!

Did you have to cut the bamboo in half if it was already a natural vase? Unless you had to seal the end to hold water? Neat project, would love to see what you do with flowers on Easter Morning. :D

Looked at my Alan wrenches, none that small. Gives me an excuse to look around the hardware section. Excuse my dumbness, is T6 metric?

Although you might find an Allen wrench by trial and error to work a given Torx fastener, there is no ready correspondence. The same Torx drivers are used on fasteners with either SAE or metric threads. You might get lucky using a metric or standard Allen wrench, or you might strip out the fastener.

A small set of Torx drivers in common sizes from T6 to T20 will cost you about ten bucks.
