It followed me home (Part 2)

CAC Damascus hatchet. There's another thread with these on it but I have to say, damn! They did a fine job with these. The handle is exquisite. I hemmed and hawed for a long while, the asking price was kind of steep, but you don't see a lot of these and now, I have no regrets.

I'm sorry about rubbing salt in a wound. Disston is just a maker of saws, nothing too special there, but that saw was made for Millers Fall. Millers Fall mitre boxes are the holy grail of mitre boxes. But $200 is rich. But check the auction prices for Laugdon (sp) or Millers Fall mitre boxes. They must have.

Isn't it heresy to talk about or even show chainsaws ? So forgive me. Is one of those chainsaws a Homelite XL-1 ? I think that model was the first homeowner chainsaw. A bit of history there. A Great Haul

LoL thanks! I’m reeling with this information now. That’s really fun!

I bet it’ll still be there tomorrow...

They still do;)

This particular one has a radius ground blade set up as a fore plane for initial hogging off of material - no silky smooth shavings needed.

That’s awesome man!! I have been meaning to tackle one of these myself! I have an abundant supply of walnut but I have been waiting to come across a nice piece of beach to make one. That’s my excuse for now at least lol. Great craftsmanship though. It’s a work of art!
