It followed me home (Part 2)

Anybody mind if I do a this might follow me home tomorrow? Can anyone ID these and let me know if I need to rearrange my schedule tomorrow morning?
I wouldn't, I'd never rearrange my schedule for a couple a couple GB axes and what looks like an HB or wetterlings hatchet.
I'm sure they're a fine quality tool but I'd just rather have vintage American steel over a couple Botuque axes and a relatively common hatchet.

I purchased this intending to gift it to an old friend...

(And damn. I’m now coming to realize that I’m just not that nice of a person.)

...I don’t know. I might need to find him something else.

Stopped by a place tonight and had a few good finds. I had picked up the large axe once and looked it over. It has this cool, thin, loooong octagonalized haft, but only the "D" stamp. I couldn't remember, but felt that D was Mann. I was like, ehhhh. Maybe. Found the saw vise and it's awesome, instant smile & twenty bucks well spent. There's a model number but no mfg stamp. Quick release type, works well even without lubrication. I went back to the axe and a special glint of light showed a faint stamp, immediately recognized as OVB. Not the big embossed one, but a score nonetheless and I was double smiling at this point. Fifteen bucks, great handle for reference and a nice heavy, little used head. Last the little Plumb cross peen on a nub of a haft that was up by the register. A few dollars, I think it may be a saw setting hammer but I'll be happy for feedback. Glad I stopped in!

That handle looks like it is the correct period but I don’t believe it is the original. And I’m not sure about the blue label brand... but I have never heard of it. I do have a blue label that was made by diamond edge which is the shapleighs hardware store brand. If it came anywhere from the Midwest I would say that’s what it is

It is only speculation. It might be a replacement handle from Our Own Hardware

I use a small plumb cross pein similar to yours but not as pretty, for setting my 2 man crosscut teeth

This package just arrived from Agent_H.

I knew about the lightly used Slasher hatchet to go with my new boys axe and the perfect style screwdriver project, but the little 1lb hatchet head he surprised me with is just as cool.
I'm not sure just yet what I'll do, but the 1lb hatchet head could be a great gift for my cousin.

The hatchet definitely pairs well with my boys axe.

Hopefully once I straighten it , replace the wood, and address the tip that perfect style driver will be perfect for the stock screws on my vintage American air rifles.
The Crosmans tend to use a nut, but my Sheridan and the Benjamin's use a large standard screw that this just might fit pretty well.

A big thanks to Agent_H, he's certainly a great guy

I'm glad that is a good compliment to your boy's axe!

Wow, that's beautiful!

Just to be clear, these are known to be good tools they're just expensive and will most likely cost you more than a comparable or better vintage axe.
I'm sure they know what they have and what they payed for them.
No worries, I just had no idea what they were. And they were out in the open. I'm used to having to dig for them. I didn't end up going. I found another sale and raided it instead. Thanks again for the help!

I don’t even know what I got these froe... oh right, I got them froe the puns of course!

Those are truly beautiful! I've been meaning to get a couple. But I forgot what froe? Lol.
I made a dump run at the end of my work day. And there learning up against the concrete wall I saw an axe handle.... Don't get too excited it's just a Snow & Neally! But it is an older one and not bad at all for free at the dump! Has a nice older original haft too. Back when s&n made them with wide swells.

First dump axe for me. How about you guys? Ever find one at a dump?
