Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

Also inspired by a specific old knife, this 'Rat has Erickson Jigged and Dyed bone handles. The last pic is the Remington (RIP) that lent its DNA!;)

Hey Peregrin - I've got one very similar: 3.125" closed and wht. micarta. The micarta is almost as yellow as the pic, which is fine by me. A regular edc!!
I'm looking forward to more Ericksons in the stable too.

Mike

Whoo boy ! Another opportunity to show off two of my prized possessions.

I don't know all of the details on the trapper ( paper micarta, Ken ? ), but check out the sunk joints !

And....a swayback with ivory.

Thanks for starting this thread Elliott, it was overdue.

Thanks for taking the time to post your contributions to this thread, folks. Some stunning examples have been displayed and I'm hopeful that there will be even more to come.:thumbup:

It's about time :D

Ken's folders are the epitomy of the word "traditional". You can tell that he pays close attention to how the old knives are made and he doesn't try to put a personal spin on them that detracts from form or function. I'm a big fan. ;)

I'm a fan of that Dog-Leg in ivory, what lines and that spear blade:thumbup:

Here is another little pocket jewel I got from the "for sale" forum.
Brown micarta scales on this 3 1/8" beauty!

I remember that whittler well knowtracks! A nice hefty Wharncliffe with beautiful jigged bone.
Here's one that's in the mail - Ken's photos!!
I just could not wait to show it off here! Something a little different!

I don't know if I will ever be able to afford a custom traditional but if I ever do it will say Ken Erickson on it! That cattleknife is a killer:eek:!!

Dave, that whittler is extraordinary !:thumbup:

Charlie, well.....i just don't know what to say about you.:p;)

You just had to rub it in, didn't you! I happened to go to his thread just a couple minutes after it posted, and couldn't believe it hadn't sold yet. Thought about it real hard, but just didn't have the funds. :( Oh well, some day . . .
