Ken Erickson Knives: A Retrospective

Ford,

Man, you take a great photo! I am really glad you like this knife, it was a challenging and rewarding one for me to build.

Ken, I appreciate the kind words. The truth is that you make such fine knives that they are all photogenic. I just set my little Canon on auto and had good afternoon overcast lighting; took off my Filson hat and grabbed my firewood stacking gloves for background.

I am grateful for all the kind words from all my friends here...and I sure do like this ebony fiddleback a whole lot.

Hey Ford & Ken,that one is Slick! And I'm glad, you're referring to it as a Fiddleback :)

Ford - That Montana Teaser is really something. Of all the custom slipjoints that have been posted recently, that one is my favorite. Ken really did a great job on it.

Wonderful images of an exceptional knife Ford. It must be a pleasure holding that beauty in your hand.

I have two knives by Ken. I lost the images Ken sent me of the whittler that Elliott let me piggyback on (it was Elliott's order but Ken made me one too, thanks again Ken and Elliott), but I still have these of my other knife.

Mike, that's a beautiful ebony trapper. That ebony would probably age better in RcanSaw than in the Colorado Western Slope due to the well researched and documented ebony/altitude contraindication syndrome. :D

Are you going to be O.K. Mike?? Is it catchy - can I get it?
Imagine having to give up all your Ebony knives:eek:!!

:D

Damn, the bone on that whittler is to die for and the ebony trapper is so clean!

Ford, my little trapper would feel inadequate next to your massive coke bottle.

Thanks for posting that pic Ken. I saved it to my computer.

Kai76, Elliott's twin whittler is done up in some real nice ivory.

Yes, Nick, that's the one! Elliott has so many of Ken's knives that its kind of hard for the rest of us to keep track of them all. :p

Well I could help Elliot reduce his Erickson inventory so it'll be easier for everyone.:p:D

Oh no you don't Mikey, I'm not gonna fall for that one...;)
(Besides, I know there are others with more of Ken's work than I have. I've got some catching up to do. :D)
