Knife or Death

I think that's good strategy. I saw (at least) 2 swords used: one long one that bent, and one medium length one did well and won I believe. The successful one made me think that's not a bad strategy, saving one clean edge for the meat cutting that was causing so many people problems. I guess you could give up some handle geometry leverage on a double edge design, but it would be offset with a 2 handed handle. Speaking of which, somebody run that course with a Super Assassin please!

But the well designed competition chopper did well too, and is probably a bit quicker. Looking forward to seeing a CPK have another run at it, especially with a Bruce Lee fan on the end of the handle. ;)

Don't forget about Jason and his 1075 kukri. He would have won the season, if he had extinguished one more candle!

I knew this was gonna happen ... seeing that beast Nathan created for Jonny ... now MTM getting her shot to run the course with a CPK ...

I told myself I didn't need anymore BIG knives ... ummm ermmm well ... I told Jonny awhile back I knew he was gonna end up getting in my head with all the pictures ...

and damned if I'm not already writing a check for a MC when then come up later ... my bank acount is like ...***insert swearing .. lots of swearing HERE*** !!!

Just caught up on this thread. For those of you who asked, MTM made it as a contestant as well. :) CPK will have another blade starring on KoD!
Congratulations MTM:thumbsup: IMO, it is only fair that Nathan make you the same knife (BC) that Jonny is using:D Have Nathan make it .235 thick and it will be even lighter and quicker! Congrats to both of you:thumbsup:

I'm hoping that the producers don't pair you off against one another so that we see CPK represented in 2 separate episodes, but I suspect that for the sake of "reality" TV they would actually choose to out you against each other.

Nevertheless, it's awesome that MTM also made it to the dance

Lol! You’ll love that new MC! :D

Congratulations!!!
It’ll be a tough decision choosing who to root for now if they have you compete against each other!
Either way it’ll be a great show!

Thank you! I’m rooting for Jonny! :)

Thanks, Tommy! I think I’ll stick with what I’ve got! ;)

Wow, congrats you guys that is awesome! Going to have to check this show out now.

Thanks!

That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see this episode. I’ll be rooting for both of you.;)

Thanks, Gus!

Thanks, Casino! We don’t know many details yet. I guess we will all find out soon enough!

Aside from practicing cuts every single day, you guys will probably benefit a ton from doing intense cardio and calisthenics. I think real boxing training would be pretty much ideal. Pretty much the same muscles will get sore from swinging a heavy knife repetitively and going all out on an uppercut bag. Muscle fatigue is a bitch, conditioning is so huge in this kind of thing.

Too late, already doing it! :) MTM is training the for the Rocket City Marathon already, so her cardio is in check. She's working on good form, accuracy and building strength. I've just been running a few miles a day, throwing the dumbells around for a bit and chopping hickory logs in half in the back yard.

might be a good strength builder to use elastic workout bands or bicycle inner tubes attached to the wrist and a fixed to emulate chopping motions. Do in slow motion, without a knife in hand. Way lower impact than actually chopping, and should provide a significant increase in strength

It always, somehow, comes back to a bicycle with you doesn't it, Lorien?

I'll strap a 5lb ankle weight to my wrist when chopping also! :D

For some reason I keep visualizing you looking like this. :D
