NEW MEMBER THREAD! If you're new to the forum post it here.

Welcome fellow South Carolinian!
I'm in a similar boat. I've been going full circle starting out with traditionals when I was a kid & then going to modern/tactical knives. Now I appreciate the classics again 😉
There's a whole sub-forum on here dedicated to traditionals & slip joints 👍
Thanks!

I have definitely been checking out the traditional and slipjoint sub forum.

That’s pretty much how it was with me. Started out seeing/using my grandfather’s Old timers and Case knives. Just now getting back into them in the past 2 months.

Good evening, I have been into knives for probably 10 years. For a while I have been really into tactical folders and fixed blades. Recently, I have really been enjoying traditional knives and slipjoints. Apparently I signed up for BF in 2015 and never used it because when I went to sign up yesterday my email address was already registered.
Welcome! Looks like you got some free senority out of the deal any way haha. It's a good place, I think you'll like it here.

Hello fellow knife friends. New member here from Canada. Been hunting and fishing my whole life, so naturally have always enjoyed edged tools. Looking forward to exploring the forums. Cheers

Hello all! Married, child-free, pet lover, reformed city dweller and proud union member. Been a metalworker for decades, though it's been fab work and buildng motorcycles thus far. Got interested in engraving a while back which naturally brought me here. Forged some rudimentary stuff in the past (fireplace equipment, basic tongs, etc), but starting to do more detailed work and blades are (hopefully) next. While I own a few customs and mid-tech pieces, my interest here is primarily in making. I'm a complete music junkie (hobbyist producer, total amateur guitar player, ex-piano, sax, drum and horn player, but still a bona fide listener). I do spend an inordinate amount of time in my wood shop these days, but as the old saying goes "If it ain't steel, it ain't real!" - so here we go.

Welcome good sir...pull up a chair and get comfortable.
There are many good people here and some that share your interests.
After retirement, I helped a friend in his steel business "throw" around I beams.

Enjoy
Bob

I'm sorry my good sir, I think the saying is "If it ain't wood, it ain't good!"

Welcome from a lifetime carpenter and HVAC guy from N/E Tennessee.

While we love having new members join Bladeforums.com the overwhelming amount of "New Member Introduction" threads has dropped the most responded to and watched threads to the bottom of the page or the 2nd page.

So, with that said I'd like to ask that all new members to post an introduction in THIS THREAD ONLY! Please don't start a separate thread. Those of you who recently became new members and posted already will have their threads left open and they will not be merged with this one.

Some helpful tips for new members:

1. Read the BFC rules BEFORE you post anything!

2. Read the Community Center Guidelines BEFORE you post anything!.

3. Read The Exchange rules BEFRE posting anything!

Hi - My name is Dan and I joined BF back in 2009, when the old Knife Forums was down temporarily, before it went down permanently. However, I’ve never posted anything on BF until now. I’m a retired botanist (well, you don’t really retire) from a small college in Michigan. Traditional knives are my interest and I’ve been collecting them since Cub Scouts, over 50 years ago. Bark River, Case, GEC, Hubertus, Marbles, Puma, Queen, and Schatt & Morgan knives are my favorites. The GEC Rendezvous is my favorite collector activity. I’m looking forward to learning more about knives and making connections with BF community members.

Hi Dan,
So glad you could join us. I will look forward to seeing your collection and your insight, concerning the traditionals.

Hi all! First post on this forum. :)
Thought I’d introduce myself a little.
When I was younger, a long time ago, I was always fascinated with knifes. Got some back then, but got lost over the years.
Seven years ago I got the Small Sebenza (left handed). Now recently I started to acquire some more. A Zero and a Hubertus.
Next up is an Ultratech that I already ordered.
