There was a time when I didn’t care for the 25 pattern, nor straight edge knives. Now, of course, I prefer a smaller knife with a straight edge, and GEC hasn’t stamped blades in forever…I've always really liked this Watchpocket Barlow, even though I've never carried it much. Bought in the days when GECs were relatively inexpensive, and hung around for months. I think I bought it after deciding to pass on that years Forum Knife

It was a great project while it lasted my friendKnowing we were striving for a "Bargain" knife BF'ers could afford, Bill helped out there also! Things have changed!!![]()
Very handsome Steve

The regret of trading away knives like this are why I can’t get rid of anything anymore…
I’ve been going through my unwieldy collection, and pulled out this for today. It was my favorite combination for a long time - lots of cutting fruit for the little ones with that slice-y spear, and that great coping blade for opening all of their packages!

The edge is screaming sharp. If my little pinky got stuck in there closing it, this hoss of a knife would lop it offA pleasure Paul, I know you like that patternI like the way the previous owner thinned down the blade for an extra-sharp edge

The more I see the “older” 85s the more I like em. I think the long pull is perfect on that pattern. That little coping blade looks real handy too. There was a time when I didn’t care for the 25 pattern, nor straight edge knives. Now, of course, I prefer a smaller knife with a straight edge, and GEC hasn’t stamped blades in forever…

Nice! I don't remember that one.
Thanks, I need to start posting in the EDC thread again!Nice! I don't remember that one.
I know where four of these are, and I might have a couple more. My half-dollar Fiskars, an always welcome reminder to me that a good knife doesn't have to be expensive.

Very dependable Jer1974, give or take. Still not a bad choice.

Maybe not the best choice for paper-thin slices.
NiceI bought this 1991 Buck 119 thirty or more years ago. I haven't done much with it lately, but always enjoyed just knowing it was there. Recently I wanted to cut down some invasive wintercreeper and was wondering what to use. Then it came to me: Big, heavy chopper, tough 420HC steel, broad pre-Edge 2000 grind -- the Buck 119 will be perfect! I've really enjoyed working with it again.
