This little girl was buzzing around the pro shop at the golf course we play at on Memorial Day. Never one to let things like that be, and also being a few inches taller than the guy who owns the course, I took it upon myself to extricate her from her plight. Snapped this picture before she took off in the parking lot.
I have a bunch of those buzzing around here too (maybe it’s the four hummingbird feeders my wife has hanging up 😁 ). Amazing little creatures. That’s an awesome picture.

We had one a few years ago that somehow got stuck up inside the cover over a stack of chairs on our deck. Had the slider open and kept hearing a weird buzzing sound. Went out there and lifted the cover and the poor thing was just sitting on the top chair, exhausted. Didn't even try to get away. Got her into a small box and brought her into the house to recover for a bit. Brought her back out a bit later and set the box on the railing and opened it. She sat there for a bit and then took off.

If you look close at the first pic, can see her tongue sticking out at a right angle to her beak. 😳

That's pretty awesome. It's absolutely how amazing how light they are isn't it? You can read about it, but it really doesn't do it the justice of sitting in your palm.

They say to feed them sugar water when you find them exhausted like that. true?

Makes sense, but in my case don't know if she even would have fed. I just wanted her to be able to rest for a bit and cool down. She flew off to a nearby tree, and we have a feeder on the deck, so I choose to believe she was able to come back and feed, and lived happily ever after.

I like it DocJekl DocJekl but pups and cats is my jam
I'm quite disappointed in my failure to coin that phrase before you 😞

If only I'd had more time, but I had to rush out the door to run a couple of errands, and used the phrase "boots and pants" my friend Michael Goodman came up with back in 2014 while listening to house music in my car (go figure, but that's what it was called)... EDIT SPEELING

Bill said boots and cats to me back when I worked on his roofing crew. Can't remember if it was the first season I did in 2011 or the second in 2016.

Willis Bros. tradition dictates that the newest pack member accompanies us on the job for a while until they're settled in. Apparently watching us is hard work, Elsa didn't even make it to her bed before crashing on the floor.

Tater snuck in as I was snapping the picture, the dog desperately wants to be friends, but neither of the cats are having it. They're starting to get over the intrusion... They got used to being the only animals in the house pretty quickly after Cooper and Lola passed.
