We took Pip to the vet for a checkup. She removed the plastic liner, stating the soft cast would help regain flexibility. 2 more wks.
Big excitement at the palace last night! The turmoil began in the kitchen and spilled into the living room! A MOUSE! We have 9 cats! Naturally, Pip led the posy. He arrived at the mouse just as my wife did. The mouse was released into the wild, with a stern talking to. Peace was restored.

It's neat though. Each of these brushes serves a different purpose. The one mom brought is great for untangling small mats, or (sorry Smokey!) yanking out mats that really won't come out any other way. The one that came in the mail yesterday has bevels inside the curve of the blades, so it cuts away for as I brush, though now that I have used it a bit more, I see it doesn't really do much for the mats. It's more like a trim and shed prevention, which is also great. I have been removing a few mats per day. I could theoretically just clean him right up all in one sitting, but he'd be trying to get away and crying a lot. He has a plaintive meow he does when things get uncomfortable, and usually by the time he has tried to run away two or three times in a given session, or when his meow reaches a certain level, I let him off the hook for a while. I think it may be another week or two before I have all the mats removed, but he'll be better for it once I have. And I don't really need to worry about hiring a groomer now, because this beveled brush allows me to remove excess fur wherever needed.

Holly on guard duty. Not feeling too safe.
