We have a good 10-12" of snow, with more on the way.

ours stalled out at the 5-6" mark. :(
oh, well - tomorrow may be a day to fire up the forge and start some new projects.
I lucked out. Started getting dressed for the dig out, and my brother called and told me not to shovel, he was coming with his snow blower. Saved me a lot of back pain.

(not enough to make a decent snow shelter. :( )

that looks even worse than my road did when we had our snowstorm with high winds in November!
there were some 1/2 mile stretches where the road is 4' lower than the pastures on either side and the snow canyon left by the cutter plow was taller than me.

Gonna attempt going to the cabin today. Hoping the roads won't be too bad. Still snowing a tiny bit. Looking forward to the opportunity of using the BK62.

good luck!
Thanks man. The lane going back to the cabin is what worries me the most. It won't be plowed after the gate. My truck is 2wd.

how far is the hike from that point? uphill in 8-10" of snow can be a challenge.
It's mostly downhill, then the driveway goes up. One car width lane, and one slip and you can go over the edge.

Just texted a guy that lives near the cabin, and he said they didn't get near as much as forecasted. They ended up with 3-4 inches.

good to hear - of course, if you die in a fiery wreck falling off the cliff, can I have your knives?
the other guys can have your whiskey, whisky, and ceegars...
Sure, except for my niner. That one will be buried with me. ;)

We decided to wait until morning to go. We had to run to town to pay a few bills, stop at the grocery store, tobacco shop, etc. We would have gotten there when it's dark, so we're gonna wait.
