Here's what Crucible says about their A2:

Airkool (AISI A2) is an air-hardening medium alloy tool steel
which is heat treatable to HRC 60-62. It has wear resistance
intermediate between the oil hardening tool steels (O1) and
the high carbon chromium tool steels (D2). Because it offers
a combination of good toughness along with moderate
wear resistance, it has been widely used for many years in
variety of cold work applications which require fairly high
abrasion resistance but where the higher carbon/ high
chromium steels are prone to chipping and cracking.
Airkool is quite easily machined in the annealed condition
and, like other air-hardening tool steels, exhibits minimal
distortion on hardening....

one more thing - I had to bump the shipping up to $15 for the first and $8 for each additional. Totally forgot about the weight on this one....:foot:

dan, put me down for a second one in green micarta. you know, to save on shipping.
:D thanks.

Dan,

Re: 80476

I just sent in the additional $5 for S/H. The other $205 is in the mail and should be to you this week. I would like the natural handles. I seem to have left that off of my previous email. Also, I was wondering if you would offer a blade only and what the price might be.
