The “Can’t leave anything alone” Thread

Just finished up one of my wife's Christmas presents.

Made her a custom LSU themed Spyderco Delica!

-I cannibalized the Damascus blade off my knifejoy exclusive

-acid etched lockbar and Flytanium Ti backspacer anodized gold by me

-added the yellow and purple Bladeswelove milled pocketclip

-Titanium hardware anodized gold by me

Wish i could take credit for the bolster engravings, but alas, I had a talented engraver from France do the work on these French folders. Wish I could name him, but im erring on the side of caution, because it may be against BF rules.

Wow, there's some crazy talent in this thread. Wish I had some of it. I've just done some minor stuff. Mostly cosmetic, or just little tweaks to make something a bit more comfortable.

Have done a couple liner/lock bar access opening. The ones that come to mind are the Spyder GB2, Spyder Positron, Massdrop Falcon/Crux/Gent, Kershaw Natrix/NatrixCU.

Finished up my Pilar.
-Started with the BladeHQ exclusive with D2 blade, added titanium hardware and pocket clip. --Also added was a Flytanium copper scale and custom copper backspacer.
-Acid etched the blade and lockbar side and stonewashed everything.
-Also upgraded to phosphor bronze washers.

IMG_20191201_220517.jpg IMG_20191201_220542.jpg IMG_20191201_220627.jpg IMG_20191201_220832.jpg IMG_20191201_220847.jpg IMG_20191201_221052.jpg IMG_20191201_221428.jpg here are a few of my hack jobs, getting better as I do more which is a good thing because they are getting more expensive. the second one down is a Kershaw link that was just too big so I cut the blade down, and that led to new scales then backspacer then a clip. there is some sharpie on the end of blade, I think it still needs some refiniing. the copper natrix has a micarta backspacer that drove me nuts but it turned out ok.that backspacer was nothing compared to the stupid titanium backspacer on the dragonfly.

Those are some sleek bolster engraving …. was it a stainless steel bolster ? Assuming you had to pay a pretty penny if the engraver charged you by the square inch.

As far as I am aware...they were SS bolsters.
The price was decent, and totally worth the finished product. The shipping is what kills ya.
