The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

I used Sentry Solutions Hi-Slip grease on the recommendation of a knifemaker(Gerry McGinnis) and I've been really happy with it in every knife I've run it in. I typically have maybe 5-10 different options around in terms of oils or greases to rotate through and try out and I've been pleased with this one and used it on a few different knives now.
Thank you!! I bet the grease helps with the bearing explosion

The Stellar makes me consider coming out of knife buying retirement, one with micarta inlays and I’d more than consider it. Is one of those perchance a Cherbokov?
No sir!! The stellar is great. You can get them at a pretty decent price! I have that bronze one up for sale. I had 3!

Crazy how much bigger the Russian Lochsa is. Between the smelliness around the original lotto and seeing some of these comparison shots, I've soured on wanting to grab one. Before the release I thought for sure I would end up buying 2, one to flipper delete/thumbstud mod, and one to leave alone. The length change isnt that bad, but the thickness is quite a lot. I really love the pocket clip design on the RU Lochsa but I remain a bit divided.

IMO it’s not a bulky knife in hand at all. The proportions feel right and it is very ergonomic and slim in the pocket. The Cook Lochsa is quite slim. Almost disproportionally so. It’s impressive the blade Shiro managed to squeeze into nearly the same length handle.

I think I like the DLT exclusive Mishka pattern more than the bear pattern. Glad Shiro is starting to explore some milling options like these!
Completely agree. This looks like a way more cohesive "stone" or "rocky" milling pattern. The idea behind the bear pattern is neat but the execution feels not great. The DLT pattern seems much more cohesive, and im glad its not another retailer taking their logo and turning it into a pattern like R1/EKnives did for their exclusives.
