Please feel free to hit me up as well if you are in San Diego.Nathan, you are one heckuva stand up dude. Perhaps one day, while on your way to the Betzner Island for the bi-annual vacaycay, you will find the time to stop over in San Diego so that we can grab some beer and grub. Bring Jo too, if you must
Seriously, I will never leave you, Jo or CPK and by extension the knuckleheads who I have come to like and befriend on here. I really don't care for BF right now but that may change, if it does, it does and if it doesn't, shrugs! I'll just let the paid membership expire and be done with it. I'm also in a very weird mood because I can't shake the loss of my beloved dog. Man, this thing has fudged me up sooo badly! Only time heals all pains.

P.S. I had asked our resident poet Eric of the FoneDork fame to write an ode in your honor but I dunno man, our normally very chatty Eric has lately been as useless as tits on a hog. He has not recited any of his impromptu poems for a looong time. I think that he needs a new muse or something "worse" very badly![]()

All the best - whatever you decide to do!I have been toying with the idea of coming outta semi-retirement to go back to work for a dealership maybe for a couple or so before I lose all my already waning "skills" altogether! At first, losing my bestie recently made me give this notion very serious thoughts for a total change in daily routines, but then I started seeing all these newer acronyms: UF2, DEK2, SDFK, FK-AMZN (made this one up because it sounded naughty!) and a few others possibly in the pipeline.
Shyte, I'm just barely done paying for the 3-4 DEK1s coming my way and a bunch of other stuff calling up my number in their rotation soonish! I'm gonna tell Mom that I lurve Nathan (although, I lurve Jo a little more) and that it's a high maintenance cyber-lurve

And this is why I don't make kitchen knives. You can get a pretty decent kitchen knife for $150. I'm not a subject matter expert and due to the ubiquity of kitchen knives used daily in so many kitchens around the world the designs are very well worked out and refined. My design and my metallurgical background in high performance alloys that have a magical ability to stay sharp and tolerate rough use is moot in a kitchen knife. As a rule you're not wailing on them or cutting hard or abrasive food. The potato knife doesn't play to our strengths, so it's not worth what I would need to sell it for to justify making them. I know there are plenty of people willing to drop $250 for our potato knife but I don't want to do that because I don't feel the knife justifies that price.
Thanks again Nathan for offering (making available the K-18. I know it has been a pain in the ass, but the end result is just Magnificent

Right?! I was REALLY impressed with the as-milled finish on my pre-HT one...very well done^^^Like them? Hell I LOVE ThemWithout question my New favorite
I would however disagree somewhat with the below statementThe workmanship on these FAR EXCEEDS any expectation I might have had
Thanks again
These are Utility Field Grade, milled and tumbled with visible tool and grind marks. You're buying a real and fully functional high performance sword built to cut stuff, not a shiny wall hanger, please don't buy this if you're looking for some flawless art piece. We're keeping the cost of this project within the means of regular folks, a perfectly flawless finish on these isn't practical at this price point. You guys are familiar with our standards, these will be made to our normal utility field grade standard which is generally regarded to be pretty good. PRETTY GOOD INDEED
