The Traveling Spyderco Delica. . .

I can’t believe Cam is already there! The tracking doesn’t even say it is delivered lol. Impressive.

He was mailed on the morning of the February 28Th. Cam literally flew!

And now he’s all the way in Afghanistan from North Carolina haha holy cow.

Cam had work to do today after the PX run:

Hey, guys! I apologize for the lengthy hiatus, but Cam is still soldiering on here in Afghanistan. The places I travel in are restricted with regard to photography, so I haven't been able to shoot as many pics of this outstanding little knife as I would like, but rest assured this little blade is going to some neat places.

Day before yesterday, Cam helped me pass the time waiting for a truck I was escorting. I whittled rings and designs on a stick I found on the ground at the US Embassy Compound, then stuck it in a parking lot signpost.

I'm gonna try to take some pics of Cam today in the little green space they built here. Wish me luck!

I read through this entire thread last night. Took me over an hour but I loved every moment of it. Great idea y’all. I had no idea the Delica was such a great knife. I’ve never owned one...hold on let me see if my local cutlery shop is still open

Carrying Cam around put me in mind of Delicas when my son, who is in the Air Force, told me that that his translucent blue Manix 2 was prohibited on base due to blade length. So, to solve that problem, I sent him a Zome Green Delica, and he was a happy camper.

Steak day at the dining facility! As a matter of course, Cam was on hand to replace those ridiculous plastic "knives" that come in the cutlery packs. I even found a small sector of tender meat in one corner of the camel ribeye, so it was all good.

It's funny - I get a lot of looks from people when I use Cam to cut food, which just cracks me up. I'd rather have a real blade to cut meat than sit there sawing at it with a piece of dull plastic shaped like a butterknife.

You could alway ask MMR if you could host Cam so can get a feel for the Delica.

I first started reading this thread because I took part in a similar, "Traveling Hat" thread on The Fedora Lounge. Unfortunately, the hat, an Akubra, went AWOL. I've gone back and read this thread from beginning to end. It has all of the elements of every great tale: beautiful vistas, comedy, intrigue, . . . . . I look forward to following Cam's travels further.
