Uncle Bill Is Gone

I'm happy for Uncle Bill- His suffering is over, and he led a life that most of us can only dream of. My heart's sure aching for all who are missing him, most of all Yangdu.

First time I've shed a tear for someone else in a heckuva long time. :(

.......Words can't say how sad I feel right now! I met Bill 13 years ago and he was/is probibly the best man I ever knew. This world has lost a truly great man and he will be missed greatly!
I love you Bill and will always remember you!

I haven't been around as much as most of you,
but I would like to say to those who were close to Uncle Bill,
that I am very sorry for your loss.

Damn.

I'm at a loss.

Bill was a giant among men. I can only try to be half the man. Godspeed.

All the best from this little household in Texas, Yangdu.

Brian

Prayers and most sincere condolences for Yangdu and the other members of Bill's family.

The world is a poorer place today than yesterday, for the loss of Bill Martino.

But a better place, than it might have been, for his having visited with us for a while.

We've lost a GOOD man, but we're better ourselves for having had him as an example!

There really are no adequate words. But we WILL remember him!

Regards,

Gary

I am sorry to hear that. :(

He will be remembered as a very fine man.

He wouldn't want us to be sad though. I'll try to be happy for him.

I count myself fortunate to have known Uncle Bill. His kindness and decency, and his many other good qualities, will live on in our memories. May he be in peace.

I am so glad I asked Uncle Bill to sign the sheath of my Manjushree sword now, I cant even tell you.
Thats another priceless piece that I may never even touch.
They are all special though, arent they?
Because of Uncle Bill and Yangdu, even the little villager knives.
Special in so many ways.
Helping them, helping us, keeping an ancient tradition alive, bringing friends together here, just too many ways to count.

I'm going to raise a glass and light a cigar in his honor tonight. Bill was truly an inspiration, every time I let my temper get hold of me I always thought of how he handled things.

Though we all knew this was coming, the loss is heavy, but his presence remains. The seeds he planted live on.

"Howl dogs, howl. A Wolf has died tonight!"

I compiled this when Bill first got sick. It still makes me laugh, and cry.

Blessings from the computer shack in Reno.
Can't help.
Always good help.
Thanks for good help.
It's old Uncle Bill back at the screen.
Some beautiful stuff and thanks.
More good help and thanks. The forumites know more than I do.
Great stuff and thanks.
Have a happy.
Grainline is just that and not a crack. Might develop into crack but doubt it. Superglue should fix it if it does.
The dust bunnies are not the least bit interested but I think this is good stuff and thanks.

"We're all brothers and sisters that walk on this planet no matter our race, creed, religion, ignorance, or what."
That's the way we should live our lives and the way we should behave on this forum....

Bruise has a ten pound hammer you might borrow to try to loosen it up.

"Probably because we're all conditioned to want whatever we see on TV."
Especially some of the girls.

Nice stuff and thanks.
Good stuff and thanks.
Always good and expert help around. Thanks.
Mine go under the bed, too, cared for by the infamous dust bunnies.
Hell, you're just a kid.
Interesting stuff and thanks.

Too bad it's only the cajones.
I had fantasies about retiring out as the world's oldest porn star but had to give them up as I hear parts transplanted from elephants do not work well on humans.

That's the way most people did business when I was a kid. I just never grew up.
Many thanks for report from the field.
Beautiful work, Sarge, and thanks for sharing.
That which was lost is found.
Pen, you are a man of many talents.
Good stuff from one of the good guys.
Advice from dust bunnies -- leave everything alone. Nice pix.
Fine, detailed report from the field.
The dust bunnies said they'd take it when you got tired of it.
It's a hell of a world we live in today.
Today's the day that changed our lives forever.
What do I know?
Prayers work.
First things first.
I'll leave the humping to the younger set.
What the hell's wrong with the pictures? Back to the drawing board.

I have this special trail clearing khukuri........
I have this special Hanshee........
I have this special villager……..
Brendan, you won't like it
Can't find a thing wrong with it, but Yangdu says it's a blem, so it is.t.
Five minutes worth of rust removal saves you $100.
Good for a hundred years.
Thirty cents a day and all the rice you can eat.
No thanks to the Nepali shipping staff.
The kamis probably used it to fire the forge.

Sorry. GTT = gone to Texas.
Debt is good.
One more time -- debt is good.
Can't remember that far back.
The dust bunnies are experts.
Holy Toledo!

It looks like the Caveman is back full force.
Your problem is you like everything -- even one legged dancing girls - and once in a great while even me.

Remember, many times what we view as a curse in the present turns out to be a blessing in the future. Don't worry about it a lot. Things have a way of working out. Trust me on this one.

It may take me out but I'll be damned if I'm going to let it scare me. Just pass the Camels, Heineken and the morphine and I'll be fine.
Just live the adventure with me and try to benefit in some way from it.

What has this to do with khukuris? Everything!

All gone. Stay tuned.

I guess I'm one of the "old"guard, met Bill & Yangdu at the Fla. Konvention,we had a good time,Bill & I had a lot of fun together, discussing life in general.I will miss him!!
THE DUCK! :(

Swift journey Uncle Bill. Your body is out of pain and your soul can now soar.
You will be missed by many!
Yangdu, my heart goes out to you. It is always hardest for those loved ones left behind. We are here for you if you need us.

Rusty, thanks for this update.

We all knew this was coming...

I am honored to have met Bill and Yangdu and the core members here.

If there is anything I can do to help....please call me.

Ray

I just wish I could've known him better. A wonderful man with a truly giving heart.

Prayers for all, especially Yangdu.

Travis

I just beamed in and haven't been here for a few days.

This is sad but I was not totally surprised. Bill knew it was coming and was at peace with his death day.

Bill has started the circle again and his pains in this life are over. He knew that he would not really die and the same goes for everyone else.

The times I dealt with Bill he was a straight arrow and a decent man. Those are getting to be rare qualities in this day and age. Such will reflect upon him as he progresses into the next life. He did good this time around.

I hope that Yangdu can keep the business going. I'm sure that there will be those here who will help her out or even take it over if she cannot keep it going.

I am deeply saddened. My condolences.

Cattle die, kindred die,
Every man is mortal:
But the good name never dies
Of one who has done well
