What are you watching & why? (splain)

Almost watched this a couple times. Think Q won an emmy for it. I watch so many british detective series that I needed a break from the accent lol. Ill check it out thx

Yup Ben Wishaw. I think that he did win an Emmy as he's a great younger actor although I feel that he gets typecast somewhat by playing members of the LGTBQ community, apart from when he's Q which is far and few in between. I've also watched him on the Netflix's London Spy (warning: some intimate scenes are hard to stomach!) which is also worthy till the ending which I feel was weak.

Anywhooo! Talking about British detective series, isn't it odd-funny as to how the Brit bobbies apprehend and arrest suspects? Even the really supposedly violent ones cuffing them with their arms extended upfront? Man you do that shyte in here and the officer will be choked to death unless he's lucky and has his/her neck broken first! We can be a very wild and very dangerous sorts, ya know~

True! Especially the detective series where they chase down serial killers and they just give up after a short run lol. All in all though they have better writing and cinematography the ours do here imo. We are stuck n the csi-criminal minds script. Good shows just dont need to see the same thing over again with different actors.

The less is more concept. They compensate for their lack of box-office buster budget and CGI wizardry by something old fashioned called "good writing and good acting". Who would've thunk that?

The HBO mini series Catherine The Great got better as it went along and I actually ended up enjoying it very much, although even the mild intimate scenes with Hellen Mirren as CTG still made me cringe, BIGLY!

This series See on Apple TV+ is LOL. Talking about cringeworthy: the religion which is practiced by their Queen is something that may actually bring me back to religion :D I’ve watched a couple of episodes for free but still sitting on the fence about Apple TV+ and $4.95 per month! If they have some decent content, I may go for it for a couple of months of trials but don’t know about continuing to watch See. Harumph!

I've watched the first few episodes of See. Religion certainly is a lot spicier in the future.

The Mandalorian....it has it's faults but even so I'm really liking it. Second episode comes out Friday then weekly till the end so no binge watching unfortunately

Casinostocks Casinostocks I offered earlier, I'll offer again: Kodi with providers is free. I only recommend a VPN so as not to irrate your ISP. I can get you started within 10 minutes. I've used kodi for streaming all content for 5 years now. PM if you'd like. Happy to help anyone interested.

Currently watching/marathoning The Righteous Gemstones. John Goodman and Danny McBride. Getting a kick out of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the premium stuff on Kodi is all pirated...right?

Can’t and won’t do pirates! Arrrrr!

ETA: I’ve come up with a brilliant plan to convince myself that I can really afford the $4.95 a month without having to forego my liberal penchants like reading the NYT or going to the local Peet’s Coffee (no Starbucks!). I was thinking that the Ti fasteners which NinJo sells for $5, should really be $10 but since she’s selling them for 1/2 price already, afford me a new subscription which I absolutely do not need!

you see, sheer economic brilliance! #winning

By now, the followers of this thread probably know that I like and enjoy my Brit flavored detective series so I think that I’ve come across this nugget of a show on Prime, named Unforgotten.

4 episodes into S1 and I can’t put the bloody thing away which is just great because everything else on the Telly is, well, pretty darn depressing these days!
