Colorful, collectible couple, Dean!
I appreciate the helpful comparison shot, John!
Praiseworthy pair of Remingtons, Tom, and your grill photo has me feeling carnivorous!I simply could not eat another prepackaged meal or bowl of cereal today, so I grabbed my Remington saw scout and prepared to grill. I am using my dad’s method, grill the meat then place all of it in a big pot of sauce and simmer it for awhile. It lasts several days this way, and the leftovers get better.
So far looking good.

Dramatic duo of vintage knives, Harvey!
What a classic!Been carrying mostly small modern knives with supersteel lately... I had a big project on the yard that I knew would take a lot of rough use, cutting tough stuff and that it probably ding up the edge of whatever I was using. I pulled out my Sodbuster Jr. The edge was as bad as I thought when I was done, but 2 minutes on the hard Arkansas stone had it back to hair whittling. Guess what's in my pocket today?

That's a gleaming, shiny pair, Stuart, but they pale somewhat compared to the springtime glory in your backyard!Earlier today (Monday), I was totin' a couple of my casual Case collection carries: a 054 small lockback (1989) celebrating the Case Tested Centennial and a 087 stockman (1965-1969).

Thanks for the info, Jack, and for the jog to my memory on that Lynx Lumberjack model. I think I've had that one on dealer "wish lists" several times, but never actually made the purchase. Thanks Gary, there was a time when fixed-blades dominated the collector's market. I have given a great many away over the years, but still find myself buying themThe Marttiini was a gift, it's one of the more basic models, but I like it. I think Greg uses one for whittling. I think it's called the Lynx Lumberjack

Looks like a useful pair, Jeff!...
I’ve got a Shrade 194ot lockblade dogleg trapper jack, and a Victorinox florist/pruner.

My father’s Opinel I gifted him years ago. He always liked it because of it’s sharp blade. As you can see, he wasn’t afraid of patina. I recently darkened the handle.
He passed away about month ago. I think this knife reminds of him; humble yet sharp! He was a handyman who could fix anything and what he couldn’t he learned.
I still can’t believe he is gone..
Thank Jack, Your Hartshead looks like it can split logs.![]()

You always have awesome treats Harvey; both cutlery and eats!![]()
Quite a versatile trio, Jack!Wouldn't it be cool if you could buy a can of nuts containing a little jack knife as a prize?

I bought mine from Lyle at the Rendezvous. Its not been loved on as much as yours.
I got out a couple of large wood clad totes today and one thing led to another. I had to wear my big pocket carpenter pants to tote them, which led to a late afternoon thirst, so I had to get a large beer. That's the problem with large knives.
That's some nice stag on your Coffin Jack, Dwight. I really like pattern and carry mine often.Thank you Dylan.
Thank you Jack
Thank you Ron.
I'm very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I offer my condolences.

Thanks Joshua!Great pairing, Ron.
Windy, chilly, wet. In other words, just lousy weather. Not really looking forward to working over at our little farm today, but a shipment of bare root raspberry bushes arrived yesterday, so they need to go in the ground today. I’m glad I waxed my Barbour jacket recently.
Besides the usual suspect on my belt, I’m using a barehead jack, and a stockman today.View attachment 1331386View attachment 1331387
