How big is that one Ed, and how long has it been around?
Such a nice combo!I'm carrying this hideous pair: Smooth White bone over brass liners. The horror!
Obviously, a verdigris explosion is imminent!

This is a small world. I just got mine in today. I'll be carrying and posting it tomorrow!
Did it have a motor to change from one satellite to the other or did you have to go out and move it by hand? It's either an 8-foot or 10-foot and installed in 1982
Very cool! I ordered two direct from Otter Messer - one with the grenadil (African Blackwood) covers and one with the smoked oak. I didn’t know which one I would like more.Such a nice combo!

Yes mine was packaged very nice. The grenadil really pops in the sunlight and I love the brass pins. I am really looking forward to it. Also the wood is much smoother than I expected.Very cool! I kept the grenadil and sold the other.
The smoked oak model just came in a plastic sleeve, but they really package the grenadil model nicely:

Agreed. The wood is highly polished and pretty spectacular. Much lighter than I expected “Blackwood” to be - lots of nice colors going on in it.Yes mine was packaged very nice. Danged nice backdrop for doing a lot of nothing, Ed! And a good knife to fiddle with to boot.Just thought I'd throw in a picture of the view from my recliner while I'm doing absolutely nothing as I'm relaxing watching "Midsomer Murders" and coon fingering my Ram Foot. The old satellite antenna in the lower right corner of the picture is a relic of the past and not used anymore.

Note that the pivot pin says F&F. That’s your reminder that it’s not supposed to be a safe queen.
I never did get one of those, but I always thought they looked like a great work knife, despite all the criticism when they were released.
Congrats on the grail!Carried my bullnose in nifebrite to work today, but had to switch it out for this when I got it out of the mailbox tonight. A grail obtained!

Being consoled this getting late night already, by a perfectly (well almost perfectly) good CV Chestnut Jig Bone TB61028W Teardrop JackTote'd Mr. Curly Maple with a teardrop to the post office
Case had sent a prepaid mailer and it arrived today
- Cover lifted pile side at blade bolster and can see daylight between cover and liner
- Blade so far off center not sure how it hasn't gotten into the blade well liner wall
If any-a-y'all work at Case, hook me up like Flint !!! Thanks

Thanks JJ, it's interesting to see just how many old Sheffield knives carried marlin spikes, from the huge Admiralty Pattern 301 to that diminutive Girl Guide KnifeThanks a lot, Jack!!! I really enjoy the scout pattern
Awesome and beefy IXL Marlin Spike/Guide Knife to team up with your Hartshead; certainly as handy on land as on the sea!![]()
Another fine pair there JJ
Cool for cats Gary
