Through the extensive unpaid work of two different dealers working with their suppliers, BF was able to offer three different options this year. This is the one that was chosen by majority vote.
There is nothing in the BF terms and conditions agreement that says that the forum knife has to be what you want each year. Neither is there anything that says you are required to buy the knife each year. If you do not like what is offered, do not buy it. Problem solved.
Thank you, FF5. Well put.
Yes, yes they do. But I can’t buy every darn knife I buy based on slicing ability? In that case I would be unlikely to own anything other than an Opinel 6. There are a boat load of flat ground, sheepfoot bladed GEC out there now up for grabs. I have a few of them. How many sheepfoot slicers do I need? If you don’t like the knife as designed, don’t buy it. And we definitely don’t need to hear your opinions of how awful it may be. Sour grapes IMO make very poor wine...
Put on your big boy pants and free float some knives.
Don't stress it Barry, this process seems to bring out the best and worst in people. Some of the members feel entitled to get the exact knife they want, while others (like myself) get grumpy with all the entitled people whining about every detail. When things turned environmental/political, I was done and had to give myself a time out.Wow, was I really being so negative by criticizing the saber grind? Am I not allowed an opinion on the 2019 BF knife, even after distributing past models for four years running? Sheesh, tough crowd.
I dont blame you I felt the same way about that. Did my best to overlook the b.s.When things turned environmental/political, I was done and had to give myself a time out.
A slip would help take care of that problemNice knife, love the sheep foot blade.
But the moment someone decided it was to be longer than 3,5" closed I was out..
Good luck freefloating this thing unless you wear XXL pants.
Yes, when I feel myself wanting to type something that's not nice, I give myself a time out. Keeps me out of trouble.I dont blame you I felt the same way about that. Did my best to overlook the b.s.

Yeah, I didn't like the political BS or the environmental BS either.
I'm just sitting here waiting for the price quote for the Forum Knife so that I can complain about that if it's over $100.00.
I was thinking if it was SHORTER than 3.5", I was out!A slip would help take care of that problem

You can always count on Ed to stir the pot!are great emoji's for such irony even as you start the subliminal messages about pricing
If it comes in a bit over $100, I will cover your part to get it down to $99.99 - it is a good investment in my sanity (as it is).
knifeswapper - I know there was a lot of discussion about the blade (that's an understatement) but don't recall much talk about the blade stock. Do you have an idea of how wide/thick the blade will be at the spine of the blade - 1/8" , 3/16" , 1/4" ?
