Any Winkler fans?

Try posting a fake here and see how long it takes to detect, nothing gets past these guys! Did you ever think the ripoffs on auction sites buy an actual genuine item for pics only and you get something different when the package arrives? Those pics that look “spot on” and “nice quality” are the real deal most likely, and they have a shoebox of fakes made from car bumper steel.
Lots of maybes and most likelys from somebody who has never actually seen one let alone had one in his hands.....

I did not post links, just who was selling them and where.....still the post was edited and I was told it was against the rules.....
Some of the rules are etched in stone, some are open for interpretation.

Personally I don't have a problem if someone mentions eBay, Amazon etc. as opposed to saying "the big auction site" or the "big river site" provided no links are posted.

However sites that are predominately known for fakes and clones my preference would be not to mention them at all, again it goes back to site traffic.

Mick has had several Winklers in hand, if you took the time to look at some of his posts instead of being so combative you would realize that.
I was referring to the fakes.....I have Winklers in hand too, and fake in hand for comparison. If somebody is going to claim they can tell the difference with their eyes closed, that person should at least have had both in hand and made side by side comparisons....I can make that claim.....

Now that I have 4 different Winklers with the plate to mount the belt clip to, I am thinking of setting 3 of the belt clips differently than vertical strong side. I am thinking one for scout carry cross draw, one for scout carry strong side reverse grip and another cross draw at 45 degree angle. Then all I would need to do is take the plate off and select the plate I want and reattach it. That seems quicker than reconfiguring the plate and belt clip anytime i want it in a different configuration. Thoughts?

I like Henry Winkler to 😆

Do the rubber handles hold up with a lot of use?
🤘🍺🤘
I’ve never had a problem.

Got my first rubber handled BK back in 2014 and used it extensively for years without issue.

Back then the rubber had small bits of what I assume was some type of red fiber mixed in and occasionally some of the rubber would flake off with use but nothing that even remotely affected the integrity of the handle.

The current rubber has some type of white fibers in it and seems more refined and doesn’t suffer from what I considered a non issue to begin with.

Rubber is my favorite handle material for the knives but not so much for the axes… I find it too grippy and abrasive for any extended periods of chopping.

I use to have a Combat Axe, Hammer Combat Axe and a Stealth Axe all in rubber… sold two, gifted the other and switched to the smooth Maple for the axe handles.

Another reason I only buy from Winkler directly. Plus I get the veterans discount so that helps.

Thanks for the info

I started carrying a Winkler stealth ax after last year‘s blade show, and I picked up a combat flathead. I was very shocked at how often the combat flathead was useful. I’ve given the act a good beating and obviously it shrugs everything off. I love Winkler! The attendance at their booth were also quite nice, and we ended up driving out to see their shop, which was really cool. I’m hoping to be able to pick up a couple more of their knives to add to my collection.
