Bicycles!

Dang, can't remember the last time I saw someone needing Italian threads. That's a classic crank.

luethge luethge This is the only one I could find on the internet that wasn't coming out of China but it's still coming from Europe so shipping might get you.

They were definitely much more common in the local shops about 10 years ago. Campy, Phil, or Sugino 75 we’re all excellent.

Bike related, I rarely get to work on my own trail. Having my own machine means I spend even less time working on my stuff, which is both funny and sad.

This was a section that had bothered me for a long time. A friend who is also a trailbuilder did this piece about five years ago. It was a horrible line and a flow killer. It was effectively a flat 90 degree turn. You either rode clockwise into the 90 followed by a jump into a ravine that you now had no speed for, or you jumped out of the ravine from the other direction only to land with your brakes applied so as to not eat an oak tree. Pissed me off from both directions.

So, let’s dig this bitch out…..of course, it’s on a vein of rock…….lucky for me, it’s soft and not granite and fractures pretty easy……

I’ll pack some of those in the tread and throw the rest out in the woods. Starting to take shape…….

Keep on working it, reverse the grade so it will drain before the roller jumping into the ravine. Machine cut the backslope to shape and placed duff/litter on the back of the berm to prevent erosion.

Finished up the machine work. I’ll be back with the child labor to snip exposed roots and get it ready to ride.388FEBA6-A6E6-4DE2-AC51-E508441895D6.jpeg5CD972FB-70F2-4D14-8A5B-873682F44B7C.jpegD556E743-CDF3-40A1-850C-93E2ED449157.jpeg74841719-78CD-4A68-89B7-1A98594C582E.jpeg

there's a little line I've been working on for awhile, just got back from...some motherfucker stole my tools and fucked some other shit up. I'm so pissed off right now🤬
Damn bro, sorry to hear that. I hate leaving tools in the woods for just that reason, even though you have to. That sucks boss.

My shovel weighs 5K pounds so it’s tough to carry off, but not impossible. Knocked this out in a little less than two hours leading into the other side of the ravine from yesterdays berm work. You hit the little red roller and off the transition you get a good compression into the bigger one that jumps you into the ravine. Go through that and you jump up and out into the berm I worked yesterday.

Man, that's some nice looking flow right there!
After a couple of months on the trainer my quads are envious.

My ride is a Surly Ogre, rocking a Rohloff 14 rear drive and son28 front hub with headlight. It was my commuter, now its my pleasure cruiser. Waiting for the snow to melt off and ill be riding again.
