Carothers and Guns

Well the day couldn’t have ended any better. We watched 7 does this evening and then with only about 4-5 minutes of light left to see through the scope this guy walks in at 75 yards. He was full rutting and zeroing in on where the does last were. He stopped broadside right in front of us.

Literally my 12yo son’s 2nd time to hunt today and he gets a 8pt buck. It wasn’t the huge guy he missed this morning but I couldn’t be more proud of him! I started hunting at age 7 with my dad and didn’t get my first buck until I was 16.

Congrats! The look on your son's face says it all.

I tagged out on a whitetail over near Lewiston on Monday. Glad to get it done and get home before the storm moved in last night.

Winter is just about here. I'm trying to find a good dry fire practice solution for indoors to keep me sane. The mantis laser academy looks pretty good.
Anyone have a system they really like?
I have the LaserAmmo iMTTS 5-pack along with the Glock reset trigger and both their Visible and IR laser modules.

Also have 2 regular Keiron laser targets and 1 Keiron Speed target. Allows me to set targets all over the house or basement. We can also play games by having each person take turns placing the targets with everyone else's back turned or out of the room/basement, then use the Keiron Speed as the timer stop.

At the beep, engage all targets as quickly as possible, then end the sequence by hitting the Keiron Speed, which stops the timer.

Great way to make it fun. Also works for party games (if there aren't any types who'd be perturbed).

The Visible laser is helpful for newbies, the IR for folks who have good fundamentals (to avoid 'walking in' the dot).

How do you like that PDP? Honest outlaw (YouTube gun reviewer) sure gives it high marks. Been wanting to try one but doesn’t seem like they’re very popular on the gun forums I frequent.

I'm a big fan of the PDP. I've owned P320s, P-10s, VP-9/40s, M&Ps, etc. and the PDP is my favorite of the bunch, hands-down. The PDP Pro model pictured above is even better, with an excellent out of the box trigger.

I also love that PPQ .45 - great trigger as well and very accurate.
