Carothers and Guns

Here's what I'm pondering: he said it's harder to shoot a clay out of the air with a red dot than with iron sights. I would think that a red dot would be easier because you don't need to line up 3 components (rear sight, front sight, target/clay). He was saying that it's harder because you can lose the red dot easier if you're not aligned properly. I can definitely see the merit in what he's saying.

What do you all think?
I don't think a red dot is an improvement for a shotgun since you're not precision shooting with shot. I find it to be a huge improvement for pistols. Especially in lower light situations.

Installing another Glock performance trigger in my 19x. With the G19.5mos and the G17.5mos that I’ve already put them in I should be set. Luckily these triggers only fit gen 5 Glocks and the 19x, I have 15 other Glocks that are gen 2, 3 and 4’s and that would cost me a lot to upgrade them all.

The CPK FK2 or the Bencmade weren’t actually needed for the install. They did however ask to be put on the table to be included with photo.

Sooo... no one told you that all you have to do is clip/file down the bottom prongs to install them in earlier gens?

Whoops. 😅

I won't say it out loud (I'll just type it quietly) they now have them for Gen 3 and Gen 4 ... the "enhanced performance trigger".

Aren't those the "modded by GlockStore" triggers, not sold as such by Glock? So + ~$100 vs doing the filing yourself?
I've never bought any so I can't tell you for sure the cost or just what they are. But yes I know the guys that told me they were available for the 3s and 4s now got them through the Glock Store.

I tried some Glocks through the years, but until the Gen 5s they jist never suited me. The triggers on the Gen 5s I have are pretty good for a striker fired pistol so I've not felt the need to change triggers. They aren't 1911good, but not bad at all.

What IWB holsters for concealed carry does everyone like?
I haven't ever carried AIWB, I'm open to it, but concerned it'll be uncomfortable.

I'll be carrying the sig p365 x macro.
Milt Sparks Summer Special and Vedder SideTuck with claw attacthment or LightTuck if I want without the claw attachment.

This time of year I switch to an OWB most of the time, but it's always good to have options.

JM Custom Kydex (JMCK) and Dark Star Gear are my two favorite in the Kydex / Boltaron arena. I usually wear the JMCK WC 2.0...or 2.5

If you want to just try it out without a large outlay, see if Dark Star Gear has the "Apollo" for your model. I think they're running $40 right now. It can be set up for IWB as well as AIWB. (I only carry AIWB unless I'm at the range.)

Their other options, as well as those from JMCK will be more...but the Apollo that Tom sent me to test out some months back was impressively full featured for a low cost option.
