Carothers and Guns

What's your opinion on the Labradar?
The Labradar is great (better with the recoil trigger, if you're shooting with other shooters nearby, where the audio trigger might react to someone else's shot).

Especially for anyone intending to do Long Range and especially Extreme Long Range shooting, one of the advantages to the LabRadar, is that you can actually use it to measure the ballistic coefficient of whatever particular bullet you're using, as the LabRadar has the ability to measure MV, and Velocity downrange (allowing you to accurately determine how much the bullet is decelerating, which allows you to determine the BC).

If you don't need that particular functionality, Garmin just released a new Doppler Chronograph, called the Xero C1 Pro. Preliminary reviews indicate it's a serious threat to the LabRadar, from a significantly smaller form factor (and LabRadar's Bluetooth connectivity can be finicky).

If you want a LabRadar, there's a distinct chance you'll be able to get used/pre-owned units at steep discounts as the Xero C1 Pro becomes more available (most retailers immediately ran out of their initial batch of the Xero). I've already seen retailers discounting their LabRadars to try to move their inventory.

Well put B bluemax_1 . The only thing I can add is that I haven’t been able to pick up my suppressor shots yet (darned Thinderbeast Ultra 9 and 338 Ultra lol). I do have an air gun trigger microphone that was recommended for suppressor shooting, maybe I should have clipped it to the gun? I guess a recoil trigger would be better?

Other than that just making sure it’s armed can be easy to overlook or can time out which got me yesterday. Bought the LR because I was tired of missing shots, pisses me off when I miss one, especially when building loads. I looked over and the orange armed light and was on, squeezed the trigger and light was blue grrr… guess I’ll stick to unarming it, then re arming every shot

Yeah, the recoil trigger is more reliable than the audio/mic triggers.

Finally decided I was making a lot of sense in my reasoning and decided to order the scope I really wanted for an upcoming rifle build. Could've bought a few cpks for it but figured if I'm doing this kind of build once it doesn't make sense to skimp at this point, especially on glass. I'm gonna have a little bourbon to celebrate.

DEK 1 3V along for the ride today to shoot the 6.5 SAUM at some distances greater than 100 yards for the first time and check the 28 Noslers tracking since I upgraded its scope to a March 2.5-25x52.

Pics deleted to try and make enough room for new ones
