I finally got out twice this past week , caught a couple of nice little limits of bass and for the third straight year hooked myself . I pushed the barb through and snipped it off .
Ice finally broke up here in Wasilla AK, been getting out a bit.
First fish of the season was a 21" hatchery rainbow
Caught several more in the 18-19" range and a bunch of little 11"ers. Crazy thing is I was fishing for pike using a 5" rubber pike when the little ones hammered it!
Knife is a Mini Grip with Deathofallthings grips. Oh, and today the wife outfished me 2 to 0.
For me this year is all about teaching my 4 year old as much as he will absorb. Last trip he caught his first "solo" fish. It was a small bass on a spinner and I couldn't have been happier.
Fished out of Racine Wisconsin this morning with a friend of mine and caught our limit of coho salmon in an hour and 20 minutes, lake was nice and calm, great morning to be out on the water.
Just a little bluegill I caught this winter and really liked the colors on it. Hoping the picture works. If it does, I have quite a few more pictures from ice fishing that I can post. This past ice season was the best one I've ever had.
Took me couple of weeks to get OK with it. Tons of fun. Those are called "Cuban yo-yos", and there is at least one other fella here that does it, Plumber Roy (plumberroy).
Haven't posted here in a while, but we just moved really close to the beach and I caught this guy today, along with some others. Really diggin' surf fishing!
Very nice fish. And even without the fish, that's a billion-dollar view, as far as I am concerned. Blue water, blue horizon, it doesn't get any better than that.
I squeezed in a few minutes of fishing before the thunderstorms and caught this thick beast. I believe this is a Warmouth (so many bream/sunfish look the same to me) and he is the widest one I've ever seen in person. The pic doesn't do it justice, it had to be 2"+ at it's widest point. This was in a small retention pond in the tiny subdivision we are in now. I have caught a few other small bream in there a week or so ago, but definitely didn't think there would be anything this big roaming around!
