French regional knives...

:p
Merci Vince,

Nice Laguiole you have, beautiful flow of the lines, very elegant.

No parade this year for the fête nationale. It won't stop people from dancing tonight. It makes me think i've to prepare the next shutdown. Keep safe.

Dan.
Thanks, Dan. I love the olivewood and the 14C28 steel too.
A few do, as blade etching or on the inner of spring.
Thanks, Alain. I don't think I would want a blade etch, but the spring might work. I am thinking of buying a Fontenille Pataud, but have to save my money--they cost more than GEC! :p

If you intend to get one someday, remember, export is tax free. That is a mean 20%. Nevertheless they're pricey! (extra file work is not cheap either)

Prester John Prester John There is a U.S. dealer for FP who does engraving. You won't have as many cover options as buying direct, but if you see something you like it will save some time and money. I recently got a 15% discount for Father's Day, so they run specials that get the price down a bit. PM me if you are interested.

Looks like it's quite easy to take apart and clean out, Christian!!

It does Charlie. All you need is a pair of small flathead screwdrivers. I decided to break it down after a recent day at the beach. After cutting up some mangoes the action became both gritty and sluggish. When I got home I took it apart to wash the blade and rinse out the handle. I let the wood dry out overnight before putting everything back together. Good as new!

kamagong kamagong Important aspect  Being able to dismantle the knife without specialist tools or lengthy skill is an enticing idea. Any kind of sand or grit wreaks havoc with folders, spring knives in particular  in the garden, I like a Opinel as it has no backspring or liners and I can wash it out and let dry when needed.
