Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Woke up to some snow yesterday, which is quite rare for where I live at this time of year.

Great pics David :) Apparently parts of Yorkshire had a 'White Christmas', but not where I live

Do you ever look at the North Yorkshire weather update on Facebook? You don't have to be on FB to view it. The Dales have had some real snow the past 3 weeks or so but the Moors got a good dump a couple of days ago and more overnight, and the Wolds have a had a good covering overnight. The Peak District is having some great snowfall right now. I'm thinking of a walk out tomorrow somewhere now. :D

I've never been on FB David, but I sometimes see the North Yorkshire weather reports, and as the border is only just up the road from me, I check them when I'm going out walking. That's interesting to hear about the Peak District, you should definitely get yourself out mate, you'll get some great photos, and hopefully have an excellent day :) Don't forget your hip-flask ;)

Aye I'll have to find some motivation to drag myself away from endless Christmas cake and beer. :D

That's very cool Taylor, nice pic  I got a couple of bottle-opener too :)

Thanks for the reassurance mate! :D

Thank you very much George. I'm sorry to hear about the post-op gait problems which led to the back trouble, but it's good that you've had access to a good physical therapist. That's all good advice. I had a period of physical therapy a couple of years back, and it certainly helped me a lot, but I was years trying to get it. Trying to get into my doctor's is like getting into Fort Knox at the best of times, but this year it hasn't even been an option. The situation is absolutely scandalous. I'm hoping that if things ever get back to normal, I can at least pay for a private osteopath or chiropractor. I have some slight gait problems myself, and saw a specialist, who was really good, 2 or 3 years ago. I hope the rehab with your knee continues to go well George, and that you have a great 2021

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is doing ok. I have to say that I'm struggling to remember what day it is! :D The New Year can't come quick enough for me, but there's no sign of the Covid situation here improving I'm afraid, with escalating infection rates, and the hospitals struggling to cope with a flood of admissions.

I woke up to a thin blanket of snow, and we have cold conditions forecast for the rest of the week. I'm glad to have my Hartshead Barlow to warm my hands on! ;) Have a good day Guardians, stay safe out there

No snow here where I live but it's chilly this morning. Light frost and then into the mid-50's this afternoon:thumbsup:. Your HHB looks great my friend:D.

Good morning Guardians and all. Another chilly but sunny morning here in NC. Got some outdoor work to do in the yard. I have a crappy Gum tree that sheds these God awful prickly balls all over. Believe it or not I still have leaves to come down. Seems like a never ending job of raking and blowing leaves. I will have my HHB with me today for odd jobs.

Thanks a lot Bill :D It sounds like you're going to stay warm outside with all that work to do. I hope it goes ok. Great photo there

Good question. Alpaca or mohair? :D
What a great little scene there; could be good 'ole London town. :D
Thanks, David. :)

...
Thanks Gary, I'm going to try to rest it today :) That's another great pic there pal
Thanks, Jack; next year I'll have to try to remember to start posting some of my lambs foot holiday pics earlier in the Christmas season. :)

Fantastic photo of all your Lambsfeet/footses, GT! :D
I appreciate your saying so, Barrett. :)

Irresistible ironwood, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I took this pics exactly one years ago while visiting family for the holidays. ...

Splendid shots of your stag HHB, Dan!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Boxing Day is my favorite holiday. I usually have had my fill of holiday socializing and look forward to a day to stay home alone in my "jammies", eat leftovers, read, play with new toys, etc. Of course, this being the Year of Covid, there was a lot less socializing, but I plan to continue my tradition, nonetheless. Some day-drinking might be in order, but I'll wait until after lunch. ;)

I actually did get to see a smaller group of the usual crowd yesterday, since we had a nice sunny day of 70 degree temperatures, and met up in the backyard for food and gift exchanges.

I've still got some Hendersons in the fridge, and will find out how it tastes on leftover turkey and stuffing.

Sounds like you had a well-planned Boxing Day, Rachel!:cool::thumbsup:
What's the verdict on Henderson's on leftover turkey and stuffing? ;)

Good morning Guardians and all. Had a marvelous Christmas and I hope you all did too:thumbsup:. Have to take my youngest daughter to the airport today for her trip back home in Venice, Southern California. Sure was great seeing her :Dand sad seeing her leave:(. I will have my trusty HHB with me today to remind me of the good things in life. Recycled photo I'm afraid.

Glad you got to spend some time with your daughter during the holidays, Bill!:cool::thumbsup:

Lots of use today!

Stag HHB and beef both look superb, Dave!:cool::cool:
(That looks about equivalent to my planned beef consumption for 2021.)

Thanks a lot pal :D

I'm carrying my Rosewood Big 'Un today :) Despite the rather uninspiring title, I'm enjoying this tome I was gifted for Christmas. I dare say, some of you here are familiar with it

Looks like an interesting book, Jack, even though I don't share a name with the author! ;):cool:

Received news that another friend of mine (in Pennsylvania) came down with Covid and is in bad shape.:( In the hospital and intensive care and no one can go in and visit him, not even his worried wife. What a terrible disease this is. Looking forward to get my vaccine.

Keeping my HHB close to me this week.

Sorry to read about your friend with a serious case of COVID-19, Bill; praying for him and his family and friends.
Great shot of your stag HHB in the evergreen!:thumbsup::cool:

And brewed by monks at an English Abbey. A generous gift off Jack in the summer.

I'm glad to get a look at the Eye of Sauron before the year ends!:thumbsup:;)

Good afternoon, Guardians!

Hope you're feeling better soon, Jack. Wish I could pour you an Imperial Stout.
Stout and stag both stimulate the senses, Vince!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Rachel, nasty combination! No sneezing yet, but I've got a very nasty cough, and a bit of a sore throat. Hoping it passes in a day or two
Oh, no! Those are worrisome symptoms during this pandemic. :( Keep a close watch on any other symptoms (including elevated body temperature) that manifest themselves, Jack. During the fall semester, I had to go through a daily checklist of symptoms to receive authorization to appear on campus, and many of the symptoms that wouldn't have worried me in the least in previous years have now become potential "markers" for coronavirus.

Stunning wood, José! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

A cool bottle opener that Santa threw in my stocking!

Sweet opener, and your rosewood HHB is outstanding, Taylor!:cool::thumbsup:

The New Year can't come quick enough for me, but there's no sign of the Covid situation here improving I'm afraid, with escalating infection rates, and the hospitals struggling to cope with a flood of admissions.
Yeah, I wish everything would suddenly improve with the move to 2021, but I'm afraid that more people will start doing unwise things just because it's a new year, and the situation may actually get worse. I doubt if the coronavirus wears a watch, and there's really no reason to expect significant improvement just because we flip the calendar page. :(

LOL! I know what you mean my friend, I am just the same. I would have certainly posted more photos this holiday if it wasn't for my back

It was Gary, I love to read about the old bums and hobos. As with other books from that period I noticed the use of a lot of English words which since seem to have passed out of use in the US (eg 'settee', a word we were discussing here some months back). Plenty of pocket knife references too, and it seems to be the one object everyone carries.

I'm afraid that I do have some other symptoms - a terrible hacking cough, slightly raised body temperature, reduced appetite, slightly altered sense of taste and smell - but those are also symptoms of colds and flus. I've been very careful throughout the pandemic, but got a chill sat outside the other night, so I'm hoping a cold is all I have. However, I'm going to isolate myself anyway, which doesn't involve a lot, as I'm pretty much isolated anyway.

Certainly a worrying time my friend :(

Two fantastic pics there GT :)

I haven't actually eaten a meal since Christmas Eve, though I have snacked a bit. I managed to force a burger down this evening though, had it with a glass of old-fashioned ginger beer :)
